best case scenario would be for Brucie to manage both Burnley and Brighton till the end of the season
If Brighton just win one game, lose the other two and we win all our games and end up third it would be about the best outcome we could get. Avoid derby as I think they have been our bogy team, get them at wembley and hopefully they'll freeze. Unless Brighton beat them. Obviously it's a bit of a stretch but we can live in hope.....
Preston won't do Burnley any favours - we need to keep the pressure on by winning our games and see where it takes us
All we can do is win. We don't deserve to go up automatically and if we did it'd be a massive injustice to Brighton or whoever it is we rob of an automatic place. They aren't going to cave though, are they? So just win all our games, get some momentum and let's try and make a go of it in the playoffs.
If we go up on an auto, it's because we deserve it and we've earned it. If we don't, that's also all we deserve. Us going up in an auto doesn't mean we've robbed anyone. Same way as if we finish 6th but beat the team who finished 3rd in the final (or whatever, CBA figuring out who plays who), we've not robbed anyone. We've earned it. If we lose in the playoffs, that's down to us too. You don't get given, or have removed owt in this. You get what you've earned, be that the glittering bag of gold, or **** all.
Forgot to add, if we go up in part due to other results on the final day, that's also not us being gifted owt, you don't get to that position as a result of 1 game. No one will do us a favour. We go up, it's our efforts over the season, we don't go up, it's the same.
ifs, buts, hope upon hopes.... realistically we`ll finish 4th, play Derby, and see were we go from there, given our previous two results against them, it may just be `our` time to turn them over, I`m not optimistic, but I do believe that the winner will get promoted, given the despair and disappointment of whoever finished third, will they be able to recover in time for the play offs. I know we did, but many haven`t.
Its play offs, the important thing for us is to keep winning and keep the momentum going, Derby have now won four on the trot how ever I think they have Sheffield Wednesday and Brighton to play so we need to focus on ourselves and get that second leg at home. Regarding the automatics the only way I would even think about them again would be firstly for us to beat Leeds and two of the top three get beat at the weekend which would suddenly reduce the points difference to 5 and may be 6 points but with us having a game in hand which again we would have to win but if we did the difference going into the last two games would be 2 or 3 points which then would be very interesting. Its very very unlikely I have set my mind its the play offs but live in hope.
Just realised Boro are 10 ahead so really it would have to be Burnley and Brighton to lose its a shame Burnley got that late equaliser last night any way with it been two clubs having to slip up I think its to much.
I remember Kimi Raikonnen winning the F1 in 2007 and he was nowhere near, even in the last race he was a lot of points behind. It's not over till the fat Brucey sings
Spieth the other day in the golf, nobody would have thought he would have blown up like a barrage balloon but he did
Interestingly looking at the fixtures' because next weekend both Burnley and Brighton play their games on the Monday, the Leeds game starts a run of 3 games (9 points to play for) for us in 8 days whilst in the same period our rivals both only play 1 game (3 points to play for). That gives us the opportunity if (a big if with City) we look after ourselves to close at least 6 points of an 8 point deficit on those two before they play Monday week regardless of what they do this weekend. All we can do is win our games now. If we do that it applies some pressure to those above us and if they handle that pressure fair play to them. The most important thing for us is it restores some much needed momentum going into the play offs which we need.
If losing the last game means we avoid Derby I think we should throw the game. And the one before, if necessary.
A lot of people seem to think we need to avoid Derby in the play offs but getting them might be best. Would they be a bit complacent having done us twice and would our players go into the game with a point to prove.
They'd be as up for it as they could possibly be, or they should be; but so should we be. On the day we are very hard to beat, let's be disappointed with how we got here, but let's not put ourselves down - we can get promoted, we can beat whoever we meet. Let's start believing in the team again; formations don't win games, the manager won't win the games, the players will - time for them to step up big style.
We've peaked too soon. Last game of the season will be a loss and be the start of another bad run. We win in groups of 5.
Yep! We can beat anyone in this league if we turn up! I don't think teams would be looking forward to playing us?
