Bruce talks a lot at interviews but in actual fact doesn't say very much. The late, great Sir Matt Busby used to answer every single question with the one word "Aye"! but he had over 2 dozen variations of the way he said it. The media gave up on him in the end as they knew they would get absolutely nothing out of him. Bruce gave me the impression (from the interview) that he was committed to do the interview but he wasn't really interested and in any case he had other things on his mind which may or may not have to do with the future of Hull City.
I agree he didn't look like he wanted to be there did he? He didn't look like he had much eye contact with the guy doing the interview.
I cant listen to this as Im in the office but as we're talking about body language I thought I'd watch, and I think you're seeing something that isnt there. This is just what Bruce is like, Ive sat in 50+ of his press conferences and interviews and even when we're flying he's like this. I thought his eye contact was fine.
But the Allams will use the forecast of the money coming in as an opportunity to sell. If they don't do it then, when will they do it?
Abel was making runs but the balls weren't coming to him or were badly hit. I felt the crosses were on but players were still preferring the option of passing to a player 3/4 yards away.
Again, I'm far from qualified to dissect the interview but I have seen many before and there was something missing from this one. Maybe it was the 'sideline' as against a 'studio' interview but there was 'something that wasn't there for me'. I got the feeling that he was just going through the motions like he knows he won't be here next season regardless.
I don't think they will or can ( for what they think the club is worth ) Google football clubs for sale. here's one for starters. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/oct/06/premier-league-takeovers-clubs-not-selling
I'm not getting into all this body language and hidden meanings but he was obviously pissed off and made no secret of it. He was going on about people questioning his decisions and he was bright red and almost out of breath with how frustrated he'd got.
I agree in general that he looks like that - I've said it on here previously that I think his general demeanour is of someone who knows he is moving on - but I think that is influencing thoughts on this particular interview. If we were top of the league by 10 points we'd all think this interview was fine.
He was just ok, he was bundled over far too easy for me although he should have got a few free kicks for being fouled but didn't, had a hard time staying on his feet, his first touch seems pretty heavy, huffed and puffed a lot. When he first came here he said he likes the physical part of the game, but he doesn't really do well against it.
If we were on top of the league by 10 points Bruce would have been doing cartwheels down the touchline whilst being interviewed. Now THAT is 'body language'!
Seems this was bollocks. Fatty Burns was on RH and its Steve Bruce who isnt talking to him. I hope Brucey continues with it. Create a bit of a siege mentality around the team.
