I was told that even if you hit the water you'd be a gonner anyway

Back to the original post though, what would attract people to top themselves in this way rather than in the privacy of their own homes? The attention possibly?

If it is the attention then it is better they do it there rather than the car on the train track way or the German pilot way

    Maybe they're homeless?

Maybe they've just been kicked out by their Mrs.

Maybe they are mentally ****ed in the skull and think they can fly - or on drugs and think they can fly.

    Maybe they are dickheads.

Maybe they are bunny boilers who say things like "If you leave me I'll kill myself'... 'Off you go then love'... splat.

Millions of reasons, sometimes reasons to feel sorry for them... people might blame lack of NHS funding, but even people privately funding mental healthcare top themselves, depression doesn't discriminate, for example... rich people get it too.

So they'd be in a clear state of mind to decide this?

Talking to the lads who work for TFL (transport for London) who go down and repair the trains and tracks in the underground, they were saying that a driver is allowed to carry on after 1 suicide "hit". Once they have had 2 "hits" they pension or pay them off or transfer them to a different job?
Amazing what they say goes on down in the tunnels, deer hits, badgers and other wildlife that gets into the tunnels.
De-railments are massively common too but we never get to hear about them either??

My mum was a radiographer (did the X-rays) in Newcastle in the 60s. Bloke jumped off the Tyne bridge and a team at the hospital put him back together over the next few months. Went straight from Hospital to the bridge and hopped off again. Killed himself, which saved my mum the bother!

The vast majority of people who survive a deliberate jump state that they regretted it as soon as they left the ledge..This is from evidence gathered by those that treat the casualties.. There will always be exceptions to the rule though..

For the record I have heard that this bloke lived not far from the SoL and the reason he done it was because his ex wife would not give him access to his kids.. This has not been verified mind and only what I have been told..

I suspect the rule is that most get turned into strawberry jam when they hit the deck. Not a nice way to go...

The only chance of surviving a fall of that height is if you hit the water, and even then it is a slim chance..
