A few years ago, whilst driving a stretch of outback road in Queensland notorious for its lack of trees, the call of nature was getting rather urgent when I did spot one some way off the road - so I parked up, ran to the tree and did the business. When I got back to my car, I found a huge crow with a black snake in its claws lying on the bonnet. After much prodding with the longest stick I could find, I realised to my relief that both were dead and, judging from the dent in the car bonnet, had fallen out the sky from a great height. I drove away thinking to myself "What are the odds..."
Morning all from an overcast but mild West West London - hotel booked for Liverpool and getting mentally prepared for West Ham...
Morning all, a bright and warm day forecast, so hope to get on a bit after yesterday's slowdown. I was quite happily strimming some very long grass amidst the trees, when the coil of nylon suddenly shot off. Finding all of the bits, I discovered that the plastic retaining clips had broken allowing it to break free. Found the paperwork from when I bought it and it was still within the guarantee period. Back to the shop for repair, to find out that only the motor and metal pieces are covered. It can be repaired by Friday or Saturday, and I am told it will not be very expensive. That depends on your idea of what is and not expensive.
Morning all from a bright & sunny Bandit Country - a few hours work and then on the train to East London. Drat, drat and double drat - I got caught speeding on the M25 back in October and I had not heard anything. Got the Charge Notice through this morning.
A very clever and funny lady, sad to see her cut short before she had chance to produce even more entertainment for us. RIP
Isn't it tragic that a woman who gives so much pleasure to millions can die at 62 and yet people like Rupert Murdoch can go on into their 80s. Truly there cannot be a god.
'It is comparable to driving in parts of Mexico': Residents slam embarrassing state of pothole-filled roads in south west Hertfordshire Is this true mex?
It's funny how minds can wander - as soon as I saw the mention of Murdoch, I started thinking about Jerry Hall and their recent wedding. Then I started thinking about their wedding night....
So let's get this right - after you watched Murdoch in the Leverson inquiry you don't think he believes he is God?
No disrespect to French & Saunders, but today we lost a half of Britain's best female comedy duo in my lifetime, maybe the best ever.
AHEMMMM!!!!! I´ll have you know that some of the roads are not even half as good as Herts. Also, people drive a little bit more crazily here!! Traffic lights and road markings are only a suggestion to most drivers here! Infastructure has improved mind and all main motorways are very decent.
