I always use the year the season finishes in. Seems more logical. Especially when you say we were 3rd in or 4th in as we hadn't finished the season then but started it. Each to their own. 1965 was a good year. We were first in Div 3 and England won the World Cup.

You are obviously Chinese, equating wisdom with great age.

Exactly why I am presently a concession season ticket holder but can only get to six or eight games a season. I also feel I have earned my stripes and will not renew. Also, I presently sit in W4 because I prefer that location half way between the centre line and the penalty area. Don't know why, just do. This location was established many years ago by standing or sitting in various locations around the ground. That is why when I worked in Derby my season ticket at the Baseball Ground during the Clough/Taylor era was in the same general location and when I had a season ticket more recently at the Philadelphia Union in the USA the seat was in the same general location. I don't want to sit (in my opinion) in an inferior location.

    Yeah mate.

Some facts and figures for the league would be good evening just for comparison to see where we fall in the bigger picture.

By that I mean do we have the same ratios of concessions to full price payers etc etc.

For what it is worth, your opinion of me counts for nothing.

I will enjoy myself watching my home team for a good price.... That I know.

I have done it before over the years. I have been part of crowds as low as 800 approx.
That doesn't bother me one little bit, I also seriously doubt the crowds will be much lower than this season if we stay in the championship.
So if people want to cut noses off to spite faces then so be it but I won't. I will be taking advantage of the price reduction, it works for me so I don't give a monkeys.

P's..... Still waiting for you to name names Castro's.

You said you believe I am someone else on here using a different alias.

You seem to spew your thoughts and beliefs in your other posts so as I said before don't be shy, tell us all who you think i am.

I await your answer with baited breath.

I've no idea if the numbers have been exaggerated or not, but there's more to this than people are aware of and the club do have a reasonably good way of estimating the numbers involved.

No, because sadly there is no new owner.

Allam (he's not a ****ing doctor) said ticket prices were not a significant part of club income in the Premier League. In case you hadn't noticed, we're no longer in the Premier League and ticket income is now a significant part of our income.

Anything that potentially reduces that income, rather than increasing it by increasing attendances, is damaging to the club and therefore a poor idea.

Everyone is now trying to come to terms with their own situation, which means they must look at the specifics of what the changes mean for them in regard to community, view and location (all to do with the seat), then the financial element comes into play, will it cost more or less for the experience, which might or might not have varied in quality one way or another. Some who fell comfortable in their terms, are saying they will not attend because of the removal of concessions, those of the youth seemingly more of a bugbear, so they are taking a moral stance to support others.

The key reason for the change (that I have seen discussed on here) is the abuse of concessions by those not entitled to use them; for instance, an adult using a child's seat, at child's cost. This, of course, is the polar opposite of the moral stance previously mentioned, but it does seem it goes on and it would seem to be considered acceptable on the grounds that it is too much of a faff to do otherwise (I have no idea if most supporters believe that to be true or a reasonable excuse).

It was your post that seems to say that the club might have reasons more involved, but still associated with concession abuse/fraud. You also say that their detection methods are more reliable than folk might believe. Do you know if the club intend to publicise any of this, as it might be seen as helpful to folk making their personal judgements on the reasons involved?

I don't expect the club to publicise any details and the abuse of passes isn't the key reason for the scheme, it would obviously be ridiculous if they'd come up with this whole scheme just to avoid people using dodgy passes.

It appèars that they are rewarding the wrong doers and punishing genuine concessions some who are Allam supporters.

The more snippets that are released, about both the club and poster/supporter positions, the more the perspective changes; it's quite enlightening, but more will follow, just as night follows day.

It's been claimed on here that the club scanned the crowd and compared that to allocated tickets. That sounds like bollocks, and is greatly flawed anyway. I would always flag as an adult in a concession seat, even though I paid full price. Quite a few times, the passes were mixed at the turnstile, so any method using that is flawed.

The paid for seat was empty due to their **** up, unless it was sat in by someone that wouldn't have gone anyway, so no financial loss to the club. In fact, if the experience had been better, we'd have gained fans. Sadly, the opportunity was lost.

It's a massive if, but if the club could positively identify individuals abusing concessions, it's easy enough to deal with.

Right now, all evidence points to it being indefensible bollocks.

As for there being more to it, I don't think anyone doubts that, and quite a few know more than some realise.

I think you have missed the point there as to why I said 1965.<laugh> A read of the previous posts in the thread will show why I put that. Soon be 50 years since that memorable afternoon and a memorable evening celebrating watching Spencer Davis at Brid Spa. The week before saw the Who there and the week, before that the Small Faces. Believe me I remember what year all this was. I have mentioned it before, but walking home, or rather staggering home, I thought City Champions, England World Cup Winners, great music, great fashions - can life get any better. Sadly the answer was no.
Our best crowds were in the 1940s. Though the 23,000 in Division 3 average that season is better than crowds now. The following season we averaged over 24,000. Think what we might have got with a membership, scheme instead of that awkward inconvenient method of walking up, queueing and handing some money over as you entered via the turnstiles.
