The only thing I have against Mourinho is his egomania tbh. The rest, including him going to rich clubs or not is neither here nor there. He started at Benfica went to Porto then moved up to bigger richer clubs. Name me a successful manager who hasnt done that. Look at Rafa, the only difference is he didnt win enough to be vilified. Pep Guardiola? Ancelotti? Even Klopp will do the same as he builds his rep and the likes if Real or Barca come calling. The only real difference between Mourinho and the rest is he's a bit of an arrogant **** but if he's your arrogant **** you dont mind so much
Mourinho was never at Benfica? He went to Porto, richest in Portugal, to Chelsea, richest in Spain, to Inter best in Italy (as Juve were going through their scandal) then Madrid... Rafa was at Valencia and won titles and European Cups, Klopp took Dortmund above Bayern, so not really the same. Nothing wrong with Mourinho doing it, but he'll never be classed as a great because he's only ever managed 1 team in trouble and he didn't know how to get Chelsea out of it and unfortunately got the sack before we could see how he coped over whole season.
I think Mourinho would have his usual short term positive impact on United but the thought of him being a public face for my club leaves me cold.
Bollocks, Chelsea have never been in the Spanish league. Mourinho has more than proved himself as a top manager, he was never going to get out of the **** at Chelsea as the players had turned on him for reasons we can only guess at, once that happens a manager (any manager) is finished at the club unless the owners buy him a new team.
Lets not believe the rhetoric mate. He started as manager at Benfica and then moved somewhere else. He was appointed as manager of Porto bcos he was making a name for himself. Porto werent the richest in Portugal either. Benfica were. Lisbon and Porto were on a par. Rafa has moved from Valencia to Liverpool to Chelsea to Inter to Real Madrid. Fck knows how that isnt different except for the fact he's failed at most. Klopp didnt start at Dortmund either. He took on Dortmund bcos he madd a name for himself at Mainz. How long was he at either club? What will he do if RM come calling should he win stuff at Livpl? I really dont see what makes Mourinho a villain for doing what every other manager would do. The last line is just plain wrong. He will without doubt be classed as a great manager. His only mistake was to return to Chelsea. But if he goes to PSG he'll be selling himself and his legacy short imo.
Moyes to Celtic - has to be now that Ronny Deila is leaving. That makes him about the same as Blanc at PSG.
Benfica is the richest club in Portugal, by quite some way. Not sure how you can credibly say Mourinho will "never be classed as a great because he's only ever managed 1 team in trouble", By that logic Paisley can never be considered a great, nor can Benitez. His list of clubs is Valencia, Liverpool, Inter, Chelsea, Napoli, Real, Newcastle - only Newcastle was in any real trouble when he joined them. Although amusingly enough Liverpool, Inter and Napoli were all in a fair bit of trouble by the time he was done with them. Besides which, Mourinho never having managed a club in trouble is simply a consequence of how good he is - he's always had offers from the top clubs and never had to resort to bailing out a club in trouble.
Strangely, the RS have a super size image outside Anfield showing of some of their players having a team crap.
B romance at the home of the RS. Apparently it had been developing for a while. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...erton-pair-s-bromance-sums-team-s-spirit.html Spring is here and love is in the air.
