The Finsbury Park Tavern used to serve the best pint of guiness in North London back in the day. Sunday lunchtime sessions were legendary - with all the old Jamaicans and Irishers piling in straight after church.

It's called The Twelve Pins now. Not a rasta or an old Paddy covered in cement to be seen.

[QUOTE="pompeymeowth, post: 9154926, member: 1000378"]Pompey used to be called the city of pubs. This link proves it. Pompey is about 3 miles north to south and 2 east to west.

I've heard it called a few things. Pikey island, for example.

Yeah remember the old Jamaicians, they used to drink rum which was serious stuff, mad strenght. They were an aging crowd probably some of the first wave.I thought it was a great spot to live, spend many a summer's afternoon up in Kenwood House and one could be lucky and catch a concert. Was the George Robey the pub that was in Trainspotting, just under the bridge?

I played gigs at the George Robey back in the day. Sadly another live venue lost but hey, at least you can watch bands on YouTube that some selfish f*cker films on their smart phone whilst stood in front of you. I hate a lot of cnuts but those twats would be at the front of the queue when the revolution comes.

That's a myth, there are more Pikey's in Chi where I'm from. Pompey folk simply won't put up with them, the last lot got threatened out of town, we haven't had so much as a pikelet or caravan move in since.

If you hate travellers move to Portsmouth.

Without being pedantic, panini is plural, if you were only having one it is actually called a panino, just saying. In the same way paparazzi is the plural of paparazzo. Stay tuned for my next Italian lesson.

Nope, the English word for panini is panini, doesn't matter how many of them there are <ok>

I would assume that an invitation to meet someone for food and beverages there would be two servings.

That's my point, the English word is wrong. It moved into the English language by people who thought they knew what they were talking about. Uneducated ****s.
