I see that after PL got some criticism, Steve McManus was out giving him plaudits So we do have a PR Officer
As a guy said last night, our policy is to sit on our hands and hope. We are ****ing rudderless. On Sunday night I would have brought Davie Hay and Tom Boyd downstairs, and put Ronnie on a flight to Trondheim airport. It's defo not all Ronnie tho, some of those players should be booted right out the door. You're not going to play for the manager?(been hearing stories like that all season long) well you won't be getting the chance to play for the next one...**** off!
We are in a right proper hole, it was clear Ronnie wasn't up to the job a long long time ago but here we are everyone has written the season off as a disaster and we've still not won the league, it could get worse as nobody will be bursting a gut for a dead man. He is a weak man, no way anyone worth their salt would have accepted Collins getting appointed as their assistant, Commons getting away with his outburst, agreeing with stupid journs questions just to look measured. We are a team who's signing are all a compromise, young rough diamonds or aging never quite made it to the top players. It takes a ****ing spastic to think that these types of players could play in the system he set up. So many times small changes to the way he set it up could have made all the difference. Like Sunday starting with both GMS and Roberts was beyond stupid everyone knows Rangers best asset is there full backs so to play guys up against them who have never won a tackle in the life was insane.
Timmy trying very hard to devalue the famous Glasgow Rangers latest humbling of their club and just like their club.... Failing miserably. Girfupyyfc
Youre trying to devalue the famous Glasgow Rangers by claiming to be them ya glory hunting scamp Giggitygiggitygiggity <newclubsmiley>
If Gary Mackay Steven is a Celtic player, I think I gave up too early on my dream to play for the Hoops. When I saw his name on Sunday, my heart sank. A mate text me to say "Ronnie just signed his own death warrant" that was while the players were still warming up! A ****ing spastic would have known to counter their full-backs first, then impose our game on them (whatever the **** that is). We actually set up to play on the counter, with absolutely no allowance made for their threats down the wings. Our next set of decisions better be bang on the money, or being inside Parkhead is going to become a very lonely experience. Staggered at how powderpuff we've become.
You're a bear Al, right? serious question, I'm genuinely interested what you think. How do you imagine your team is ever gonny get out of the financial state they are in, and how do you see them achieving it?
Well much of the financial strife we have is the hangover from 4 years of criminal mismanagement mate. Tens of millions of pounds have been either pished away or defrauded from the club. Going forward we need to fight the Ashley contracts tooth and nail. The club needs the dosh from retail sales, every club does. No doubt there will be a howk in season ticket prices for the coming season. That should bring in around 20 mill. We are fortunate enough to have an excellent manager who seems to be able to turn a pigs ear into a silver purse. If he continues to work his magic then that should save us a fortune. At the end of the day we have to try and live within our means. We won't be able to do that for at least the next two seasons so there will have to be investment from whoever. Do I think Dave the rave will put in x amount of millions? Nae chance. Hopefully he won't have too. The same question could be asked about Celtic mate. The only player who you can sell to balance the books is Tierney. Would you be happy with that?
Interesting mate. Very fair assessment, I'd say, of where you are, but if King isn't here with money to put in, what is his end game? or is it just an ego trip? As for us, I can't think of a thing, Tierney aside, that I'm happy with right now! it's true, it's a funny auld game, mate
Celtic have plenty to sell...If need be Don't be judging them on being ****e against a pumped up Rangers (who weren't exactly brilliant) Biton could be sold for up to 5m Rogic is up to 5m as well it's not balancing the books tho as Celtic have healthy finances but it will need a clear out ...
i agree with Pud, we might not have one player who will generate 10 million, however a clear out is needed and this could possibly bring in the 10 million. you would get 3-4 million for bitton (****s who think he is worth 10 need their heads examined), 2-3 million for johansen. A million for Forrest as well the squad then needs to be trimmed and players of the wage bill (some of the top earners too) lustig, commons, efe, ciftci, scepovic, cole, ckr, mcgreggor, gms, boyata (combined you might get a couple of million for the lot of them. We need a centre half, and a dominant centre midfielder
Aye, agreed on the above. If we trim the squad of the dead wood and has-beens then we'd easily get a few million. Bitton would bring in a few and Joe Hansen would get 2 million as well. Tierney won't be sold either as 'balancing the books' isn't something Celtic need to do: we're on an even keel, we own our merchandising rights , and we still shift 40k+ of season tickets a season. Given that for the past 3/4 seasons we have taken in roughly 45 million in transfer fees, then we are on a sound financial footing, even with 15 million spunked on ****e players. Our biggest problem is finding someone who understands the size of the club and what it means. For me, the job was always too big for RD, and as Tam said in the other thread, he just didn't have the balls for it, proven by letting Commons scream at him and Collins from the bench for example. I rate Commons, even now, but he should have had his baws booted to high heaven after that. There's a spine of a decent team at Celtic. The SF was awful, but Rangers weren't brilliant - they were just slightly better than an abysmal Celtic team. We missed open goals, hit the post and the bar, and had more chances. Regardless though, this summer is huge for the club and massive changes need to be made. FTQ
Judging by the comments and attitude from the Huns, they are a top notch side will skoosh the league next year! The seem to think they were amazinhg on Sunday - a gap of 80 minutes between shots on target!!! (a goal of course but still) Good ... as yer squad is paper thin, no strength in depth and pretty average (many players where well above their usual standard on Sunday). Celtic are in a mess, due to lack of leadership, but we only need a new manager and 2 or 3 experienced players (mid 20s) and we'll be back to a very good side.
