Sheikh: our booty?

More reports that Liverpool might be sold. This time to Sheikh Khalifa, Sheikh Mansour's wealthier half brother.

Liverpool presumably being sold for 700million GBP.

More crap or anything to this? Just rags suggesting the sale at the moment (star and express).

Last time they said we were going to be sold to middle eastern party was on Apr 1st. Not fools day any more.

 

Its quoting the daily star as a source which was on april 1.

The time city was bought it was done in the dark so I cannot see the arabs having the spare cash while pumping oil at a loss and then letting it slip out.

 

For the record, I think it's rubbish and not going to happen but the star has the story again today with a few details changed.

Maybe the April 1st story sold well so they're trying it again. The oil nations are finding it more difficult with oil being cheap but the ruling families are ridiculously wealthy anyway. They're not suffering. Its the peons that suffer. They are trying to get new income streams such as tourism.

 

yes thats true... but theres only so much 700million to go round all their projects.

the tourism and airports are really all for show. they know once the oil goes its the same as when the spice routes as so forth ended. theres loads of spots in the general region where ports and stuff became important i nhistory then become complete backwaters. They need to buy and own western assets that generate revenues to keep up the lifestyle in the very long term. football clubs are just advertising hoardings to them.

There's a lot cheaper to be picked up frankly. west ham will prob cost half our fee and gold and sullivan will be hawking it round like a pimp on crack.

The arabs are desperate to invest in anything except oil as they can see it coming to an end, so why wait when you can invest while the markett is still relatively cheap
