I think that's what scares the **** out of them. As much as they're pissed at Wenger, can they guarantee that another manager would keep them top 4 with the funds and resources available? Maybe going forwards but I think they underestimate Wenger's achievements in the years after the new stadium crippled them financially.
This is pretty much why Wenger has license to manage Arsenal for as long as he wants, with no really pressure from the board to win anything. If you look at all the managers since the PL began, only SAF and Wenger have managed that sort of consistency. Every manager Liverpool has tried has dropped them out of the top four at some point, Spurs average top four once in five years and even Mourinho couldn't keep it up with all Chelsea's money. Given how tight fisted Arsenal's owners are around wages and fees, it's very plausible that losing Wenger could see them finish outside the top four more often than in it - just look at what Moyes and LVG have done for us from a vastly superior starting position.
So Chavbus win the UEFA Youth League, but why is it that their youngsters never make it into the first team, particularly now when they are playing like donkeys. I suppose they will simply join the other 300 players they have out on loan and be forgotten.
Spurs has scored more and conceded less than any other team in the league. If they end of winning the title, I think they would have fully earned it.
My thoughts exactly. If Spurs win the league, they deserve to win the league. That's how the league works - it's not a cup where a one off game can make all the difference. Over 38 games, where everyone plays everyone else, the team with the most points always deserves to win
Looks like PSG wants to sack Blanc for Jose. This is the madness with money in football. They won the league by over 9 games and now he is fretting for his job. Quite insane!
Football is fast becoming pathetic. Can you imagine if Sir Alex is threatened every season because of Champion's League? The expectations of these money men is just fkin weird.
U21s have just won the league again with 2 games to spare after beating Spurs 2-3 in the 94th min after being 2 goals in front. There are a lot of players in that team who could save us a lot of money and bring success/excitement with the right manager. Special mention to Joel Perreira after this season, he has the look of a fantastic keeper in the making and his distribution by hand or foot is unbelievable.
Mourinho is already as low as it get's... PSG is exactly the type of club he would go to... only ever goes to the richest club in the league, spends 100's millions wins a few things then pisses off 3 years later.
