I think there may be some rose tinted nostalgia there because I certainly watched some crap down the years at Boothferry Park, although I take your point, the effort was almost always there, even if the performances or tactics were not.

Sometimes the performance is a means to an end, Stoke got promoted and established themselves in the top flight playing boring football, once they consolidated they could start to play an expansive game with exciting players but they had to endure some crap to get where they are now, don't think too many Stoke fans are complaining though.

In an ideal world everyone would play like Barca but we're in the second tier of English football and more often than not functionality prevails over flair.

Why? What's he done wrong? He didn't get a chance with us and he moved on to better his career, can't really fault him for that can you?

Its where an Ash comes in handy on the park… when you miss a sitter, you need someone to give you a pat on the back and say, 'no worries, tough luck, next time'.. raking over old coals I know but above a striker or anything thats what we've missed this season and some more than others, usually those who actually got in a position to make a difference.

I've got nothing against him at all, good luck to him
But he's playing against us so for 90 mins he's the enemy. Maybe even a smattering of 'City reject' ;)

It will be relevant to many, even if it isn't to you. Not everyone has time or money to throw away for instance. Of course complacent players, managers and owners would love it if people just accepted whatever was put on offer, they wouldn't have to make any effort. And perhaps that has happened at some places which may pride themselves on attendances, but they can look quite gullible really.

And in earlier decades players were paid much less and prices to attend were lower as well. The comparison really isn't at all pertinent. People of course expect more now, why wouldn't they? If expectations should be less then reduce the prices and you'll get more in.

On Friday the players started off well but just fell apart when the equaliser was scored. In the second half especially the crowd did have a few attempts at getting behind the players and almost the whole of the North and East stands were clapping and chanting. Only thing is the play continued to be poor so people just got fed up again. Really don't know what has gone wrong but there must be something going on behind the scenes. Other seasons we might have been happy with 4th but the season started off with such promise and we were favourites to go up. It really is just so disappointing at the moment. How do the players get their confidence back, I really don't know.

I think to know the crowd are behind them would be a good start and getting back to back wins would help

Please call me Meatloaf cause "you took the words right out of my mouth"
    Spot on Filey

    I ****ing hate the allams
I would sooner watch City in the fourth division and enjoy the football than have these pair of herberts telling us what we can do and where we can sit and all the other **** they spout.

    Football used to be fun.

Not really relevant since there seemed to be a misunderstanding of why you go to games. If we were losing every week would you stop going because it's not entertaining?

I actually spend quite a bit to watch the team, though clearly the money isn't spent on getting to the stadium.

I go to watch City which I enjoy, I also go to be entertained.
Sometimes I get entertained, mostly though for the past 2 seasons the football has been dire.

Nobody breaks a sweat anymore, it's all half-hearted.
Deano, Ashbee, Knighton, Chillo, Simpkin, McGill, Whitehurst gave a ****...these lot don't.
    Bruce blaming the fans.
    Allams blaming the fans.
Price hikes, changing seats, club name change...what the **** is going on with our football club.
The club is toxic at the moment.
