What would happen to the rest of Scotlandshire's fitba teams if the Old Firm bugger off to the English league? Would the likes of Aberdeen or Hibs etc start demanding the right to jump ship too? It is for that reason that I don't think that Celtic & Rangers should move.
Yesterday's old firm game had the biggest worldwide TV audience since the superbowl . Rangers and Celtic are too big for England.
Not big enough to play in Wales . Why would Celtic and Rangers wanna give up their silver spoon route to Europe ?
What did you expect with all the Jocks and paddys all around the world, they breed like rabbits both of em.And then people tune in for the lets all laugh at Celtic effect where they managed to get knocked out at the last four stage in a 1 club country.
Celtic have had 30 chances at Champions League since 67 . If they were in the Premier since 67 , how many times would Celtic have had opportunity at Champions League . Celtic's " Big Fish " in a small pond has worked well for them
What's "Silver Spoon" about having to play 3 qualifying matches to get into the CL proper? Are you implying some sort of leg up or advantage we have in qualifying? If so it's been a long time since the Scottish Champs got straight entry into the competition proper. Because Scotland's co-efficient is so poor our Champions don't get a bye into the Groups, they have to play 3 ties normally, against teams from countries who - according to some on this thread - are far better than ours because we are the worst league in the world. Scots are not complete idiots, we know our football is poor but we are certainly not in receipt of any "silver spoons".
Are you suggesting that Nicky, one of the esteemed members f the LYT Army Council should actually be meeting with POOVES at the Waterloo? They won't like that at all
Given they were a top side , better than the English champions , if they'd been playing in England's top flight since 67 , fair estimate would be regularly ...
Considering how great Celtic is , those qualifying games should be a cake walk . Celtic at least have their foot in the door to Europe every season ...Why ? .....because they are a big fish in a little pond . If Celtic were in the Premier League all along , I only see very little imput in Europe ....just an opinion though ..cheers
To be honest, I'd rather have the scotchland teams In the English league rather than the welsh , sheepshagging bastards, maybe its time for a British league
Who's saying Celtic are great? We are playing sides in qualifying who have bigger budgets and better players than Celtic, some of those other teams are also big fish in small ponds, like PSG, who do get a freebie into the CL. Have a you a gripe with any team who happen to be big fish in small ponds when they get into the CL or just Celtic/Scottish football in particular?
