So we won't be back in the Premier League until the 2020s. At least it keeps my record going of City being in the top tier for every decade of my Norwich City supporting life. That's something to look forward to as I contemplate retirement.

How you respond in the next match will be telling, but I think Sunderland will pull away without any last day nerves.

Just one more loud-mouthed prophet of doom - how I´d love him to be proved wrong, wonder then if we´d all get a grovelling apology. And before you all ask - no, I don´t happen to think we´ll stay up, but I do know it´s a damned sight too soon to start with the obituaries, while there´s life there´s always hope.

Crap article, even if it does turn out to be true, still a crap article. He can throw in the towel if he likes, and at the same time, stay away from Carrow Road - who needs him, the team certainly don´t.

He does have a point though? Fair enough, the penalty was harsh, but for the second - Bassong robbed like taking candy from a baby <doh> and no creativity or penetration at the other end of the pitch.
Both aspects are all too familiar this season, so in a way, he's seen enough to make his judgement (34 out of 38 matches).
It's not exactly a knee-jerk reaction to a singular loss, is it?
We have history of imploding and I'd suggest he's writing from that stance.

Does this apply to all the faithful who turn up every week to witness pitiful performances, and are told we make a difference? We're given plastic Canaries, Clappers and Tiny flags to motivate the team, and at every turn they let us down! Its not just losing games its the manner in which they do it.
I feel as a life long fan/supporter who pays a fortune to buy season tickets for myself and family that I have a right to say what I feel and see. The article states what a lot of the faithful fans see every week. I will still support my team wherever they play, its what true supporters do, but I reserve my right to criticise them as well as praise them.
I am fed up with people who say "stop moaning and get behind the team" THERE'S 25000 OF US WHO GET BEHIND THE TEAM EVERY WEEK, what we want is the team to get behind us as well, up to now they haven't!

Looking at Newcastle and Sunderland fixtures gives me some optimism. We're also playing Watford, Man U and Everton all of whom could have FA cup semi's and/or finals to thinking (clutching at straws i know).
I predict nothing will be resolved until last day of the season and all 3 teams could potentially stay up. But as Newcastle have Spurs i think they are down.

    Fingers crossed.

I say yes we'll survive until the maths tell me otherwise. We were absolutely ****e on Saturday though - surely we know how Big Sam sets his teams up? Anyway, ever the optimist, I'll keep believing. Who knows...Look at Villa after their win over us - nothing; perhaps Sunderland will follow suit?

I'm not convinced that Sunderland will do any pulling away. They are down there for a reason and the scoreline flattered them tremendously. I believe Sunderland will stay up, but I think it will go to the last day and both sides will end up losing with sunderland staying up with 2 points to spare. Newcastle inspite of beating Swansea, I can't see escaping. I think Sunderland may pinch two wins with 1 a piece for City and Newcs.

    Bah!

The big difference here ILD is that he´s not criticising us, he´s relegated us already, like I said, he´s thrown in the towel - supporters like that, we don´t need.

Criticism is a totally different thing altogether, perfectly acceptable amongst all fans, and what he says to his mates in the pub, is one thing, but he should keep his trap shut, publicly, with that sort of article until/if our relegation is proven., THEN he can say I told you so, and no doubt be patted on the back by all his little fans.

Sorry, but I have no time for that type of ´supporter´.

You're entitled to your opinion the same as everyone else him included.
I'm fairly certain we've had it, I can't see on what grounds anyone can see us surviving?

And incidentally ILD, I´m with you every step of the way on the above - true supporters will always support, and that DOESN´T include telling everyone that we are already relegated, while sitting in 17th position with 4 games still to play.

My god, how satisfying it would be, to be able to stuff that article back down his throat. COYY

I have a vision. We beat Watford and Naismith gets a last minute winner at Goodison to send Sunderland and Newcastle down!!

I tell it as I see see it, and I have seen it all before, so many times. When it comes a relegation scrap we always bottle it. Correct me if I am wrong but have ever survived when being in the dog-fight with 6 games or less to go? I really can't think of a time when we did, not even in the Championship. (excluding the 1 season under CH)

I find it really odd because when we are fighting for promotion, we typically do okay (not a perfect record) but we don't even appear to bottle and out on a decent showing.

I think there's more chance of Jonny Howson escorting a unicorn off the pitch than that!
Horrendous waste of (a lot of) money he's been so far in the yellow shirt.

There´s always a first time ;) and that´s the point I´m trying to make. I too think it´ll be tough, but not necessarily impossible, and I just wish people ( and particularly our own fans) wouldn´t condemn us, until it is actually confirmed.

I thought I'd lift the gloom!! Our best chances of wins was at Palace and home to Sunderland, now it looks like Watford and Everton. I'd feel more confident with Klose in the team though. Surely we can't end the season with six defeats?

To be honest for most of last season we bottled it when it really counted under Adams, we only got promoted under AN because of new manager bounce / run.

I've tried to find a successful relegation fight in the club's history. I believe the first season in the top flight back in 1972/73 went to the last two games and I think City were safe before the last game. I think that's the closest to a last day success. Anything closer than that?

Sorry, the points and goal difference swing of this weekend has left me with the serious grumps, apologies for appearing to take it out on you personally <ok>

No need Cromer! I didn't see it that way. Didn't Johny escort a pigeon off the pitch once? Yes, the results were bad. We could be second bottom before we next play. But it's about time something good came our way!!
