A few days ago when I said Wenger could not meet the ambitions of any of the top 5 or so clubs in the prem you said this was untrue and that you were "very comfortable" with getting 4th. Make your mind up ffs
When you have a board which is happy to accept mediocre performances with a steady income stream there is no need for ambitious results.
If that's the case I don't know why he said it. What relevance does that have to the ambitions of the other top 5 clubs. If it's not good enough for Arsenal, why would it be good enough for them. A87 just comes across as very confused.
Who do you want to replace him (you must have someone in mind) and what do you expect them to achieve?
But a club the size of Arsenal, with the infrastructure it has in place, 2 FA Cup wins in over a decade isn't a good return.
Im not going to lie here but, you guys should be crossing your fingers and hope that Man Utd can knock you off 4th.. really, the only way your board will finally snap out of their coma is if you fail to secure top 4. It'd be a blessing in disguise.
I love it, so many world class (or nearly) players. When they are playing well and winning they have the bestest team in the league, when they play **** and lose it's all Wenger's fault
Wenger picks all these class players, it must be his fault. It couldn't be that they couldn't give a **** (Wilshere, Ramsay) or are just not up to it (Gabriel, Mertesacker, Monreal, Coquelin, Ox, Walcott, Giroud.)
Yep, when they win (with Wenger's tactics) it's all down to the super duper players, when they lose it's Wenger's tactics that are ****.
Why does it have to be mutually exclusive? Why can't it be because of both? But that being said, Wenger picks the players and the starting 11 each week. He has to coach them and guide them in training about what he wants them to do. They clearly don't know what the hell to do on the pitch. Nevertheless, he's brought in new players yet we are still architects of our own downfall and make the same errors even with new players. So either the players he utilises aren't good enough, in which case the blame lies at his feet, or they are being stifled by the way Wenger wants them to play football, in which case, the blame still lies at his feet. Or they are not following instructions, in which case you have to ask why they aren't carrying out orders from the man in charge who is accountable for the way his players perform. So you see, whichever way you look at it, the buck stops with the manager. The fact that we are performing like a Conference level team at the moment is indicative of his poor managerial skills & choices.
So if it's the players who aren't good enough then isn't the person to really blame the guy who's spent a decade putting them all together being paid millions and millions of pounds a year?
I have loved what AW has done for Arsenal but it is now time for him to go, and I don't mean upstairs where he can still influence the new manager. i wish he would go now but know we have one more season that will be like the last 10 seasons of frustration. problem is who replaces him ? suggestions ?
