Joe Dodoo is the closest we got as he is an actual striker.

Can see us playing King behind Ulloa as a lone striker in a 4-5-1 in the first half and then Okazaki can come on in the second half and run them ragged.

I feel confident that Ulloa and Okazaki can do a job against Swansea, who have nothing to play for. Mahrez will need to perform though (another hat-trick will do nicely).

If Schlupp plays in place of Vardy, it will be behind the main striker which he has done from the bench before - Ulloa or Okazaki will be on top.

We won't be playing the same way as we normally do - can see Ulloa starting and us passing direct to him to hold up the ball instead of passing into space for someone to run with the ball.

... Leo is most potent as a goal threat when meeting crosses pulled back from the by line .. last season Albrighton and Schlupp were the main source for that ... however we line up, Claudio will have given it a great deal of thought and we will have more than one game plan ...

Can't appeal as it was 2 yellows. Vardy got the first yellow card because he had been warned beforehand about a previous foul. I think he looked for the pen and made a meal of it.
Vardy should have had a pen early on when thrown to the ground in the box. Huth got away with another forearm smash in the box. Reid made a meal of it for their pen. If he was being held, how the hell did he manage to dive forwards?!
Carrol blocked off Schlupp.Penalty? seen them given, seen them waved away.

BTW what a save by Kasper in the first 50 seconds!!!

Also there is talk of Vardy having an extending ban for his reaction to the ref after the red card!!

Playing with 10 might not have suited king so I think he wouldn't be the choice
With 11 that is a different kettle of fish.
or we can have schlupp runnning - then have a hopeless shot or useless cross.
the game against swansea is different to playing west ham with 10

... presumably you didn't see any of the Schlupp crosses during last season then? ... I particularly recall Schlupp destroying Southampton at home last season with Narhaniel Clyne at full back ... he's been blighted by injury this but did very little wrong ... indeed his goal at Norwich was a class finish and won us the game ... yes he is a little raw but defenders hate pace most of all and Schlupp is our quickest player ..

Personally I don't know what Claudio will come up with for Swansea ... but our whole ethos to date has been built on pacey counter-attacking ... King is more of a replacement for Drinky if anything ... I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't start with Okazaki and Ulloa as a front two and leave the rest as is ... Mahrez is in need of a big game and Albrighton needs to improve whilst in possession too ...

Whilst I suspect that it might just be someone speculating to stir ... Alan Brazil on talkSport this morning commented that he had received a text from someone 'living i Leicester but not a leicester fan' who commented that Jon Moss is in fact a Tottenham fan ... and given the Kevin Friend debacle, why was Moss therefore allowed to ref yesterday? ... as I said ... I suspect it is just a wind up merchant ... but if there is any substance ... the brown stuff will hit the air circulating appliance on an enormous scale .... <laugh>

On the face of it, losing Vardy for the next match (or more) ought to be a big problem for us as he our leading scorer by some margin. But, because Drinkwater et al try to hit him so early, that is also our biggest cause of giving possession away needlessly. It obviously does have a measure of success when it comes off, but yesterday's goal was far more controlled and the quality of the 2 passes was top drawer. I would really like to see us retain possession better, as we are also vulnerable to the counter attack when we lose it, and Champions League teams will take advantage of it. Retaining possession doesn't mean passing sideways or backwards, it just means we build a little more slowly but with more accuracy. We have some very accomplished ball players in our team - Mahrez, Drinkwater, Kante, Albrighton, Fuchs - they are all comfortable in possession but they often don't get a chance to show it because of the desire to hit Vardy so early.

Next week I'd like to see Ulloa lead the line with Mahrez just behind. Take away his defensive duties and let him have more licence to find space in the holes and then go past defenders; basically let him do what he does best. It isn't the time to introduce Dodoo or put Schlupp in a role he isn't very good at. Horses for courses at this time of the season. I can't see Okazaki fulfilling the Vardy role; he doesn't have the pace or finishing ability. He's a good foil for Vardy but I can't see him gelling with any other striker. On the wing we can have Schlupp or Gray. Schlupp is probably more experienced and gives us the opportunity to feed Leo from both flanks if we have Albrighton on the right, but Gray also looks very promising and is starting to understand his defensive duties.

    Game very much still on!

He had the odd good cross, even lloyd dyer made the odd good cross.
I do remember him doing the impossible last season, made Alan hutton look good.
Finish against Norwich class but how many have gone into the stands

... don't think there is any question that he's not one of your favourites ... but he has never let anybody down when he has come on and he does have an eye for goal ... he can also do what Lloyd Dyer couldn't ... he can defend ... ... if Ranieri wants to hit Swansea with pace down the flanks then he is an obvious choice ... the more I think about it the more I can see Ranieri moving Mahrez in behind Ulloa, giving Shinji a breather and either bringing Jeff or Demarai Grey on as a more orthodox wide left man ... Albrighton doing the same on the right ... Alex Ferguson thoughtenough odf Schlupp to trial him at United ... he has bags of potential ... yes he needs to calm down from time to time but he played a huge role in our survival last season and hasn't done much wrong this ...

Vardy suspension: true test for the Don.

    Analysis indicates positive outcome.
