I believe in some parts of East Yorkshire, Barn is pronounced McLean.

Thanks for the commpliment, Febbos. You're not wrong. Oh yes, the thing I was missing was the i in missing. Too quick to hit the post quick reply button! It's a reference to McLean not being able to hit a barn door. Nice dog. Have you known her long?

    Haha.

He's saying McLean's useless Febbos. As in he can't hit a barn door from a few yards away, despite, given the fact, it's virtually impossible to miss one from such a short distance. You'll probably hear that phrase used quite a bit.

Thanks Golaccio! I was beginning to think I didn't understand the reference myself.

I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and wipe the slate clean (it's quite hard thinking back to some of his spectacular misses from virtually on the goal line). I hope he does well for the team this season. Just can't see it.

I'd love to see him do well .... or anybody in a black and amber shirt. I wonder what the trade in value is for one of them at Cash Converters. The shirts, not the players.

Sorry Golaccio. I didn't mean to offend. I just thought it was obvious what I meant. However, your comment is quite appropriate as I have been described that way frequently. I have no idea why.

No offence taken! The last thing I would want to do is to upset anyone on here.

Clive Allen played football for several London clubs, but for which London club did he play another sport?
Which team conceded the 1st goal in the premier league?
In which country, other than England, is there a football club called Everton?

No idea about the first two, but I believe that the third one is South American. Heard about them in their Champions League. Chile?

Chile is correct...I'll keep the first two open for another poster but add a 4th question..........Which former football league club's ground is the closest to the River Mersey?

Clive Allen played for London Monarchs.

Man Utd conceded the first goal in the Premier League.

I think Stockport County will probably be the closest to the River Mersey.
