Yes, and what a great pity that far too few are prepared to remember it. There was a time when e.g. France, Italy or Spain would have come to Hampden quaking in their boots. It is a pity, and well said mate.
Burnley/Hull/Derby/Middlesboro - they'd walk the SPL if they competed in that league with their current squads. Celtic are in a **** state with Deila and Rangers are just finding their feet again. Who was the last player to make a successful transition from SPL to BPL? Naismith or Hutton probably, weak.
They've brought it on themslves though. The big 2 saw the big tv monies available, thought they'd always be in there with the big boys and ignored the financial risks to their own Scottish Leagues in doing so. The Spanish League is going the same way.
Virgil Van Dijk? Fraser Forster? Victor Wanyama? We seem to sign a Celtic player most Summers None there I'd want at the moment though EDIT: Sorry just realised did you mean Scottish players?
Sorry, badly worded, I mean Scottish players but those three have made good progress for sure. Wanyama is a beast, if Kante hadn't been so good this season and VW hadn't had so many red cards, the pundits would be waxing lyrical over him.
Yeah the red cards have put a downer on peoples opinion of him sure, 1 of them wasn't deserved either but that's football. Miracle that he didn't get a single red card in his first 2 seasons here. Struggled early on in campaign but overrall has coped pretty well with the loss of Morgan. He'll be off this Summer.
Lured away, his agent has been trying for a couple of years now, we refused last year cos couldn't let both him & Morgan go in same Summer. But he's going into last year of deal now n I doubt he's in a hurry to sign a new one. Similar to Clyne I doubt we'll let it run down when we can get 10+ million for him so I imagine he'll be gone to highest bidder. Unless the multiple red cards has put some teams off of course...I know that's wishful thinking really though.
