It's becoming rubbish already, but it doesn't seem to be affecting their learning!

I think this scheme will accelerate things
At some point its going to start costing them money and hopefully they will bugger off but I fear they will want circa £90million first.
I don't know how they are going to get it, neither, I suspect, do they

Not at all, certain groups of society get very few benefits of any description and must claim all they are entitled to, nothing is for free we have paid dearly throughout or working lives whilst subsidising indirectly certain other groups not all of which are particularly deserving.

It's way beyond rubbish. A city the size of Hull getting 15,000 when we're competing to get back to the PL, even though we had 24,000 in the bottom division. It's incredible.

To be fair, I've already got all the OAP's I need so I wouldn't want any more even at a reduced price.

Do you reckon I'd be successful if I tried to change the address to St Peter's Close?

I hope we lose every game we play till the end of this season and we dont go up

I hope thousand of supporters DO NOT buy into this **** scheme crap.

It will serve the bastards right if we end up with a huge drop in supporters going next season

Maybe Then they will realise what a ****ing **** idea this is to drop concessions for young fans and pensioners at a time when we already have 9,000 empty seats.

Even IF your a winner spare some thought for the many who are NOT.

Hey guys, dunno if this is the best place to put it - not sure how many will see it - but we have some decent discussion about the membership scheme on here. If I've misrepresented anything please let me know so I can correct in the next podcast but I think we got everything pretty much right:

I am not qualified to answer your post 'Filey' but it stands out like dogs balls that somewhere down the line the Allam's should have employed a Public Relations Officer to create a better working relationship between them and the fans. The Allam's had a golden opportunity to really put this Club (and City) on the map but the spat with Council and then the 'name-change' fiasco has really sent everything backwards after such a promising start. Again, this Admission Charge idea has been yet another fiasco which has put the owners firmly (if not permanently) off-side with the fans.
Bloody shame to see this happen.

They want as many members as possible, so aren't going to put up a financial barrier to people signing up.

The brochure may suggest there might be a fee later, but it's only to encourage people to sign up early.

Given they think spreading flaskers around the ground will improve the atmosphere and charging kids more will be good for long term growth and putting their price up encourages long term fans to 'earn their stripes', it's a quantum leap to try to link their aims with their actions.

They may well find they have to revise it later, but as it stands, there'll be a charge to join after the cut off date. The £50 is hardly an encouragement, given all the other crap associated with it.

Is there an e-mail address to contact in the package somewhere, or a phone number to call ?
My package will be mailed to my sister's place in Hull, but she is out of the country until early May which means I'll miss the deadline if it's April 29th as someone suggested.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

Nowhere does it say there will be a charge if you don't sign up by the cut-off date, nor does it say what the charge would be, it just says there 'may' be a charge.

It doesn't mention Hull City the football club either, but it does say that there's no charge if you sign up before the 9th, which would be a pointless statement if there's no charge after it either.

They may well change it, but as it stands, there's a charge if you don't sign up before the date, and the figure used in the other releases was £50, which it was argued by you, was picked to be enough to prevent people cancelling in the closed season and then renewing.

The club clearly stated at the meeting that they had no desire to charge any fee for joining and would only be introducing a fee to disuede anyone from cancelling in the close season.

If you wish to believe something else, you're welcome to do so.

Something else like their own FAQ's and glossy brochure? <laugh> I'll believe that or not, with or without your permission.

Makes you arguing over the reasons for the amount of £50 seem like you forgot what they said at the meeting.

They may well end up not charging out of desperation at the lack of take up, but as it stands, the rules etc leave them the option. Why write it in if they've zero intent on using it? Why mention it in their glossy brochure?

EDIT. It doesn't stop anyone cancelling and renewing anyway. It only stops you using the same details to do it if there's no charge for new registrations.

Perhaps a 10 month plan with a break in June and July, whilst still costing the same but with slightly higher monthly payments, might have appealed more to the football fan psyche.
