I want to pay upfront in July /August like I have been doing since the 1970s. It suits me and my finances. I don't like membership schemes (especially pernicious ones), direct debits or unnecessarily complicated schemes to do real simple stuff. This is not customer focused or intelligent. It suits some ****'s high-handed cost cutting agenda. It is quite frankly bullshit and an abortion of a 'scheme'. Like the name change. Like the badge. Like the evictions. Own goal after ****ing own goal.
We are being bounced into joining within 2 weeks to keep our seats if we are not moving. We are expected to decide in the absence of any prospectus for next season. No knowledge as to what funds a manager might have next season in either PL or Championship and if there are transfers out, what funds might be available for new players. We know that large amounts of money have been promised to new projects at the University and Castle Hill Hospital and that the Allams are re-directing their wealth away from the club as it is up for sale and they are finished investing. So are the supporters being viewed as cash cows to prop the club up whilst they squeeze every possible drop of money out until they sell off? Their preferred sale criteria of a local person with sufficient funds is likely to be unachievable as anyone local with sufficient wealth and crucially interest would already have come forward by now.
But that isn't the case (or may not be) They don't go on general sale until 9th June and the pamphlet says that a fee may apply after that date
Of course in an ideal world everyone would turn up and support their team irrespective of other things. However, we don't live in an ideal world.
My whole ****ing point is why do we have to reinvent the wheel? Why do we need a marketing project, brochures, edited brochures etc costing thousands because some ****er thinks it will save us .....thousands? Build bridges not walls, silly ****s. Why complicate and obstruct people wanting to go to football, the most popular game in the world, but at a ground where attendances are already way lower than they should be? Are people staying away because its too cheap and they don't enjoy not being in a direct debit membership scheme? Or is it because the club has strangled the life and goodwill our of the support with **** idea after **** idea?
And that is ****e If they had to introduce some scheme why the **** not announce now that it would be introduced for the season after next and work with supporters groups (and their finance bods of course) to develop the scheme into something that would hopefully increase attendance, provide the finance needed and make a majority happy ( or at least make them understand the rationale) I was wrong when I guessed they would leave it until after we knew what division we'll be in. However I think instead they have rushed the half arsed thing out now to put pressure on people to renew (or rather 'join') at a time that there is still a possibility of promotion so that you might think if you don't act now to keep your seats you might find them filled with some fans of the premier league in the event of the unlikely occurring It's ****e whichever way you look at it
To save me going through 100 pages on this thread and reading the terms and conditions on the membership scheme could someone check that I have got this right ? Because we haven't tightened up the use of season passes like they have at Derby County we now have this scheme to stop the abuse of season passes and also to improve the atmosphere. I know it's not easy to get some teenagers away from their Play Stations but they are the future of the club and the age group most likely to contribute to the atmosphere. So the club have put their prices UP ? I don't take any kids to the ground and my season pass will be cheaper under the new scheme. But this is surely madness putting the teenagers prices up, what is the point of that ? Am I missing something ?
Pfft It will be ensure the 'lower bowl' is full and it will 'create an impressive atmosphere' ...do keep up
This. Effectively, there's no joining fee for anyone that signs up early. For everyone else, there's probably a fee. I'm not sure how it works for anyone that joins to become a member, but doesn't want a pass, or whatever they call one on this scheme. **** me, as kids we used to go into town without any money, and blag enough to get on a coach and into an away game. It's even dafter when you think that coaches were booked and ran by people either at school, or not long left, and probably wouldn't be allowed in the ground without a chaperone now, but 'businessmen' manage to **** the job up. People want to go to football, clubs want their money. Why make such a simple issue so complicated?
Only buying a single on the train there because you knew you'd get pushed back onto the return by coppers whether you had a ticket or not....those were the days It really is a monumental complication of one of the only sales where you have a complete monopoly and don't even need to make your 'customers' happy, but only need to manage not to piss them off and they'll keep coming back for more
OLM Can you shed light on this please? Surely there may be a fee for those of us not allowed to join before 9th June? (according to the pamphlet)
Why are you all complaining? If you're willing to move seat, you can ALL make big savings. All you have to do is stand outside the East Stand each home game and save up to £500!!!
That's precisely what I intend to do The only way these clowns will learn is when the attendance is rubbish
