Official statement from qpr holdings saying we are in discussions..........i think thats what its saying??
The statement talks of being in preliminery talks with a new possible buyer. Nothing about it being done and dusted today. Has the board produced the statement to calm the situation down because someone was going around telling everyone that it would be "done and dusted" by today?
I was told that on Thursday the club would announce new owners. The statement confirms what I told you in that a takeover is very close to completion.
Yep, I'm beginning to believe you CB. Mind you, with these owners, nothing is done until it's carved in stone
As far as I'm concerned this is great news. At the very least in confirms that the Goons are looking to sell, and that they are already in discussions with a potential buyer. Also, I see no good reason to abandon hope that the Mittals may be involved in the bid. Cheers CernyBerny, all is forgiven!
Be interesting to see what the new investor will bring to the table.££££££££££££££ to spend on some good quality players and back Neil to the hilt please!
Love the bit at the end: "Accordingly the Company confirms that is it no longer in an offer period. We will be making no further comment at stage." Which tells me the club sale is going through and been pulled off the market......hoorah!
Cheers for the good info cerny, had any apologies yet? ===================================== New buyers for QPR? 28 July 2011 Newly promoted Queens Park Rangers may be on the verge of a change of ownership. Newly promoted Queens Park Rangers may be on the verge of a change of ownership. QPR, who won the Championship last season to win promotion to the English Premier League, released a statement on their official website on Thursday announcing that the club was in talks with a potential new buyer. Current owners Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore have received much criticism from the club's support during the off-season, with the pair seemingly reluctant to spend on the squad. The only new arrivals at Loftus Road have been striker Jay Bothroyd and midfielder Kieron Dyer, who were both free transfers. Ecclestone and Briatore also markedly raised the club's ticket prices in a move which further angered the fans. But that might all be about to change, with the Italian duo entering into negotiations over the club's future. The statement confirmed that the potential buyer was not the same one that had showed interest in March. "The Company has entered into preliminary discussions with a different party," the statement said. "Accordingly the Company confirms that is it no longer in an offer period. We will be making no further comment at stage." http://www.soccerway.com/news/2011/July/28/new-buyers-for-qpr/
