    Hi Potts and all,

Well I too have googled a wee bit and found the following information on Death Note, it seems that my new bete noir, is a fan of comics, oh deary deary me.

And to think that I was going to try and talk to him like an adult, silly old me.

And he accuses some of us of being in fantasy land, you can't make it up!!

Here it is if anybody is in the slightest bit interested - Manga's at dawn Tee bloody Hee

Death Note (デスノート Desu Nōto?) is a manga series created by writer Tsugumi Ohba and manga artist Takeshi Obata. The main character is Light Yagami, a high school student who discovers a supernatural notebook, the "Death Note", dropped on Earth by a god of death named Ryuk. The Death Note grants its user the ability to kill anyone whose name and face they know, by writing the name in the notebook while picturing their face. The series centers around Light's attempt to create and rule a world "cleansed of evil" as "God" using the notebook, and the efforts of a detective known as L to stop him.

Death Note was first serialized in 108 chapters by Shueisha in the Japanese manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from December 2003 to May 2006. The series was also published in tankōbon format in Japan starting in May 2004 and ending in October 2006 with a total of twelve volumes. The series was adapted into live-action films released in Japan on June 17, 2006, November 3, 2006, and February 2, 2008. The anime series aired in Japan from October 3, 2006, to June 26, 2007. Composed of 37 episodes, the anime was developed by Madhouse and directed by Tetsuro Araki. A light novel based on the series, written by Nisio Isin, was released in Japan. Additionally, various video games have been published by Konami for Nintendo DS.

Viz Media licensed the Death Note manga in North America and has published all the twelve volumes from the series, a 13th volume which serves as a "reader's guide", as well as the light novels. The episodes from the anime first appeared in North America as downloadable by IGN. Viz later licensed the anime series and it aired on Bionix. The live-action films briefly played in certain North American theaters since 2008. However, none of the video games titles have thus far been published in North America.

Several publications for manga, anime and other media have added praise and criticism on the Death Note series. The series was banned in a few Chinese cities due to piracy.

On April 30, 2009, Variety magazine announced that Warner Bros. acquired the rights for the Death Note manga to be adapted into a live-action movie in the United States. Warner Bros. has hired screenwriters Charley and Vlas Parlapanides to adapt the manga into a screenplay. Unlike the Japanese Death Note live-action movie trilogy, the US-version will be directly adapted from the material in the manga and will not follow the storyline of the Japanese movie adaptations.[1] On January 13, 2011, it was announced that Shane Black has been hired to direct the film, with the script being written by Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry.[2]

People should find better things to do with their retirement.

If I WAS retired I probably would, but as I am it doesn't enter the equation.

Anyway back to your space goblins or whatever, oh just a point do you hide your comics from your mother, don't want you to have nightmares eh!!

In all seriousness, I really want to THANK YOU for giving me a laugh, honestly living in Fantasy Land, er does Light Yagami play central midfield or is he a nippy winger?

Then i would suggest some kind of hobby... obviously, comedy, reading, simple finances, football coaching and rational thinking are not your strongest areas.

Maybe it's time to clear the loft and invest in a train set...?

I think you should, as this isn't healthy for you.

The story only consists of twelve volumes, but with the time you took researching it all, you already knew that right?

Oh NO Jowler, I hadn't thought of that, I imagined he would be really sneaky and write my user name in a magic notebook, I could cope with that - but NOT a poke in the eye with a crayon.

Do you think it would be a MAGIC crayon, AAAGGGGHHHH not a purple one please please, anything but a poke in the eye with a purple crayon.

I think that we should write a new Manga Comic, with the hero a Welsh Wizard with a Magic Baseball Cap, he has a Magic black book, full of has been, never was been players that he is "looking at"

He has ANOTHER Magic notebook, in which he writes the players name and waving his Magic Wand says "smashing smashing izzy wizzy let's get buzy" and lo and behold, the player signs on loan to either Bolton or West Ham

Oh this book only works in the Magic Transfer Window.

Sounds exciting to me, what do you think L??

I really would be interested to know

OK guys enough! Lets get back to discussing (falling out) about our beloved football club, because whilst humerous, it does sort of defeat the point in having a football forum!

L never uses the Note Book, if you insist on referencing the series you could at least try to be consistant.

I'll stay away from that one then. In fact, just to stay on the safe side I'll stick to primary colours.

Turns out that there's a new one out about Welsh Wizard with a Magic Baseball Cap, some have criticised the series though for taking too much time in developing the storyline, they feel the whole story should have been crammed into three, twenty page volumes....
