I watched this with Arabic commentary and thought the ref was abject. Big sam should have been sent to the stands and the momentum they got from that not happening allowed them to bully us all game. Naismith overdid it once too often, but I felt the ref was looking to give them something as soon as a half chance arrived. It did in the form of Wisdom although I'd argue he got the ball first, the am dramatic thereafter sealed the penno. Bassong as I've said too many times should not dilly dally. He was fouled I have no doubt for their second, but feck me we were playing like cub scouts, passes all over the place and for us to score through the red mist of injustice was never going to happen thereafter. Oh well. We're still alive. OTBC.
Doesn't matter about Klose. We are down, and if he is injured, then that's the last we have seen of him in a Norwich shirt.
Right, so on that upbeat note, I'm going to the pub for a wake - I may be some time...a season or two!
Your having a laugh. That really would take us back. It's bad enough that an injury to one player, Klose, can have such a detrimental effect on the team. All we'd need after that was for Tettey to be fit.
In retrospect, agreed nothing. But I can see why they wanted to to keep spirits up. There is absolutely no way they didn't know Klose had ligament injury as soon as he had his MRI scan. They knew after his scan on maybe Monday
Yes, obviously. 3-0 looks like Sunderland battered us. They did no such thing, that's why I'm angry. They barely turned up. God I'm in a bad place at the moment. I don't know if I should be posting on here.
The ref's worst decision was not to give Sunderland a second penalty when Defoe was blatantly fouled. Norwich's two claims were half-hearted to say the least..
On the contrary, Howard Webb was doing the Ref reviews and said that we should have had two penalties with video evidence of that. Kirchoff definitely fouled Bassong as well, but it was clear by then that we were going nothing from that Ref.
Yes the score line flatters Sunderland. If we'd scored first the scoring could have easily been the other way round. I'm not convince they would have scored the first goal without getting the penalty, but once they went a goal ahead the game was really set up for them and Defoe to get more. If we had got level to 1-1 then I suspect we would have won. The frustrating thing is from the moment Klose was injured last week we've been going backwards. Defence was hopeless, midfield got overrun trying to shore up the defence and push forward for a goal, attack was inadequate. Pretty much the story of our season. I'm starting to wonder if it's the players or AN or both that are out of their depth. The decision to sub an uninjured Brady at half time was laughable as he was causing Sunderland problems. I think if we can get 6 points form our remaining games we'll stay up, trouble is I not convince the players or indeed the manager are up to it.
I still struggle to see what the prolonged pursuit (and large fee by NCFC standards) of Naismith was all about? Good engine, etc, but not really ever a goal threat and brings nothing that either Howson, Wes (on a good day) or even Odija couldn't provide.
If AN had started with Hoolahan & Remond and they hadn't turned up and given the ball away as much as they have in half the games they've played this season, that wouldn't have been right either.
Howard Webb is worse than Mariner for Sunderland, and that is saying something. The BBC commentator had Defoe's down as a certain penalty, with the Norwich claims being six of one and half a dozen of another for one of the decisions and the other being a slight nudge where your player went down as if he had been shot..
