Sam has taken some stick, some probably deserved, but the 3 DM system worked well today and 2 clean sheets in a row! Watmore was rusty as hell but will improve vastly for next game I recon. Just can't be as wasteful as we were today in good positions. We won't get as many chances against the better teams
I'm a hands on manager mate, and when we had a water tank burst in one of the halls last night, I was mucking in as hard as anyone to clean things up..
Why should they be rusty, maybe just the pressure of games getting to them, I would give them a little more time to play their way through it, as he has done with Catts, but we have alternatives on the bench if they dont.
At this stage of the season and the predicament we're in, all our players looked a little bit edgy and understandably so. It isn't going to be pretty, we're going to have to grind out results.
I love Catts no nonsense style of play, do or die if you like but i've been guilty of slating him in recent matches as he's been a bit of a liability at times. However yesterday he was head and shoulders above everyone else and won that game for us IMO, i just hope he can keep the same focus for the remaining games. If he does then we will be OK, he's a leader and did that brilliantly yesterday and the rest of the team responded. We need more of that.
Vito wasnt far behind either, its all hands to the pumps from now till the end of the season, big games comming up, nice to see Seb and Watmore back, to play a killer pass and great finish for our third goal, it was only when that went in that I felt safe in the knowledge that the three points were ours.
I would keep Watmore as an impact sub. Maybe Seb in for M'Vila if he stays as he has been the last few games. For a team you need a mix. The Hoff is our standout player at the moment but 3 of him in the midfield wouldn't be so effective. We need a player like Casserole to do the dirty work and to disrupt the opposition. Him and the Hoff work well together because they have different roles.
No excuses for a home defeat to Arsenal now after today, they're taking the Chelsea approach to getting rid of Turkeyface by the looks of it.
