Good point "Chazz" I've been on this message board recently so I can't have seen a thousand games since 82, my eyes were lastly not working for the last two years.

Elmo kept Rosey out because Rosey was not a right wing back in Bruce's estimations.

I'll repeat what I said if it helps. Elmo has never convinced me he's good at defending, even in his run during the Prem. I think i went through a detailed explanation of that. He's not a good defender and now his confidence is shot to pieces... Not a recipe for success.

I have a fairly good sauce that's what Taylor is on, I know thats impressive for someone who's only just joined "Not 606"

I bring Taylor into it as he was clearly brought in as a back up full back but is so inept that we have to play a midfielder there. That's why I managed to "bring Taylor into it"

I've seen Elmo make errors defensively his whole time at City, the thing that isn't now happening is the upside stuff. That's partly confidence, partly maybe other factors. I can't imagine he's trying to play badly on purpose, particularly when he's on the market this summer.

But then I've only just turned up...

Elmo hasn't played any less consistently than he ever has. Some people on here have held him up on a pedestal and failed to see his faults for the sun shining out of his arse, much the same as folks do/did with Bruce.

A big difference this season is we've changed formation to play with proper attackers so our entire attackig force consists of more players than Elmo alone, which probably makes him look less effective.

He was poor defensively last night but as mentioned on the match thread he was gunning for it with the ball, making runs, trying to take on his man, getting balls in the box and won as clear a penalty as you'll ever see which should have won us the game much more comfortably in the first half.

He's another scapegoat our hysterical fickle ****wits hve decided to sling their bullshit at.

<laugh> So you are saying a new signing is on more money than the players already here who had a pay cut!!! GTF

A terrible defender in the PL would be found out. He wasnt. Simple as that.

We did get relegated which probably suggests the defence wasn't all that though

There are multiple players on more than Taylor. Hope that helps.

I disagree and think he did get found out in the Prem defensively at times. So it's not as "simple as that" in my humble opinion.

I think Pete is mates with Elmo.

Or is so deluded that he thinks Bruce is at fault for everything at the club.

Bit of an Internet god complex going on Chazz!?

I didn't claim to be in the know. I didn't know these things were secrets.

I saw Elmo get caught taking silly risks at times and getting caught out of position in the Prem. Less so admittedly, but if your heart wasn't in your mouth sometimes with his defending over the last 3 years I'm genuinely surprised.

As the man above said. We got relegated with him in the defence. He's part of that.

Dawson seemed to like backing off a lot and that actually cost us, I remember Shelvey at the KC using him as a marker and scoring from 25 yards out and there were at least a few other times he did the same thing. The whole defence wasn't good enough, Robertson was naive, Elmo made mistakes but it's a team game

I think Elmo hasn't been very good this season.

He was ok at Derby when he came on and he does show flashes but he's not the same.

I don't think Bruce has either done a good job this season or dealt with this well.

It's just not as simple as "elmo is **** and doesn't care"

We had the tightest defence of the bottom 7 in our relegation season.

Clearly the problem was not at the ****ing back, it was up front.

What an Internet behemoth you are! Fingers of steel. I'll give my opinion, I think that's the point of a board "Chazz".

I said I saw him look ropey defensively over the last 3 years not just this year. You asked for examples and I gave them.

    Bored of you now.

Going to do real life stuff. Good luck defending the Internet heavyweight championship...

Wasnt our defence it was our creative and goal scoring failings that sent us down

I don't care if you call bullshit you silly boy.

I've been told that more than once, I believe it to be true. I haven't seen a copy of the contract obviously. It's simply what I was told.

This is my real name "Chazz" if I post on here it'll be as me. I'm pretty well known on other City forums Chazz on City Independent for years as "Charlie Palmer" who is an ex city player I knew.

Hope that all helps. You come across as a pompous little boy on here. You wouldn't speak to people like that in real life and it doesn't make you look clever, just tedious.

However you dress it up, Elmo has been poor this season. To be fair, he rarely looks effective as a right midfielder as he just doesn't have the trickery to beat a man at close quarters and seems to need a bit of space to use his pace effectively. Basically his main asset now seems to be to win the ball in the air from McGregor goal kicks. At least as a wing-back, he got the opportunity to build up a head of steam before he got to the opposition full-back, but now he rarely seems to want to even take him on. Don't know what's happened to him, but he won't be here next season- Palace/Norwich bound methinks
