I think the main problem is sometimes your tone can be a little heavy, but also sometimes bordering on condescending. I think you give very good points most of the time, and even if I disagree with them, at least they tend to have structure and reasoning. Yes you state facts, but then go onto speculate: Just because Mahon is training with us and played a little bit in a friendly, doesn't mean he is signing. We had a look at James, and by all accounts it sounded like he played quite well so maybe worth another look, but it doesn't mean he is singing either. And both these players playing doesn't mean Bas has withdrawn any funds for Dyche. The fact he said we wanted to sign 2 strikers kind of goes against the fact Mahon is this 7th player (assuming A left back is the 6th) who will sign. You have formed your opinion of Bas from a friend. My Dad knows someone who knows Bas and has talked positively of him... That doesn't mean I think he is a great guy. I am just giving him a chance to do what he said he will do... and so far, I believe he has (we can specualte about the office staff, but that is all it is, speculation)! We will know more in the future, and I think the East Stand will be the thing that either wins over the fans or loses them! but we will have to wait and see!
Fight! LOL. I don't have much of a fighting record. I have been punched just once in my whole life - 4 Oct 97 in the Dunstable Road, Luton. He was such a nice lad with his sovereign ring glinting in the sunshine! I stayed on my feet and he ran away, and I then appeared on Page 3 (of the Watford Observer) and came up with the immortal line "the scars will fade, but the result will stand", my Mrs still laughs at the memory. And I have never punched anyone, at all, ever. Somehow I don't think I'm about to start ...... LOL
Me ..... condescending ....... surely not! LOL It is true I jumped on an idea of forming a campaign to "stop Iain Moody leaving the employment of Watford FC". As ideas go, it was plain daft! I believe the departures of Julian Winter, John Stephenson, Iain Moody and ............ Malky MacKay are bad news. I believe the club have lost a good deal of ability and experience. That is my opinion, this board is a place for opinions ........... what more can I say?
Lol well, there are other ways of 'shooting down' an idea True, it is not good for the club, losing so many people in such a short space of time! Sean probably won't have made his contacts in the game yet so would not know who to bring in, but then you hope this is where GT can step in and offer advice, as can the other new guys who have come in! Of course we want your opinions... everyone is entitled to express their opinon; from old and 'wise' to young and 'naive'

Interesting thought, how does a supporter calculate how long they have been a fan of a football club? Some would say from the day they were born, others first game they went to. I would say I've always supported Watford, but if it's the first game I went to it would only be about 10 years.
It is a tough one... I'd been a supporter for a while before my very first game. At 5, my Dad thought I was too young to go to the 84 cup final - but I stayed at home, watching all the build up, recording it for my Dad... I knew I was a Watford fan even though I hadn't been to a game yet - and even with my Grandad trying to get me to support Glasgow Rangers instead!!
Ah in my case, Watford only became my 1st team after a young lady friend of mine persuaded me in Spring 1981. Before then Liverpool were my first team (when you have seen Keegan and Toshack together in the flesh ...... and I had lived there). So I supported Watford for 2 years as my 2nd team after mates of mine took me in Feb 1979, where I saw Blissett and Jenkins live for the first time. So for me its influences, my Dad was my first influence and then my first serious girlfriend was my second.
i started having an interest in Watford at school, because a friend of mine was a crazy fan. In reality at that time, i fancied a boy from Manchester so i 'supported' Manchester United (yes, he was red rather than blue, a rare breed up there! lol). i always followed Watford results and when i moved nearer i got more excited. I'd never been to a football match and when my son was born i decided he was going to be a Watford supporter, whether he liked it or not! It took a while, he went through the big 4 before, aged 6, he finally settled on Watford. That was 11 years ago. So i guess i drifted in, though it's always been there...going back to school days takes me to about 35 years...or you could call it 11 when i started bringing my son to matches...either way...i'm a Watford fan, and darn proud of it!
Got into Watford fc whilst at school (St Peters Primary school) When my dad started taking me to some games that was it! Even remember a couple of times my dad took Aberdeen and I too!
Blimey, you waited a while! LOL Both my children were at the Vic before they were a month old! He had the additional fortune of touching the 2nd division championship trophy at his 1st game. There was a certain symmetry about their 1st games. Both Portsmouth at home, both just after Christmas (freezing, really freezing, very cold it made your toes curl!), he was 1999, she was 2001! oh yes and the results were both the same too - draws. Boy oh boy I took some stick for that!
OMG, I "was sent to" St Peter's. We moved in the Summer half term 1974 and Mum said she could educate us at home until we started our proper schools in the September term. That was until "the inspector" knocked at the door and said he had "heard there were children not at school". My sister and I had to endure 6 weeks at that school. And they used to bus us to a swimming pool somewhere in the back of beyond (turned out to be the old Bushey outdoor pool), so I saw Bushey Arches at a very young age. That trauma took a long time to clear ........ some say I'm still scarred today! LOL
