Can you imagine the size of the cloth that Fergie would have employed? At least the size of half the pitch and probably dropped from a helicopter!
Former Ref Mark Hasley did an interview on Talksport the other day, in it he mentions Micheal Oliver (who refereed the Palace game) is a huge Newcastle United fan - apparently refs have to declare any allegiance they have to any football team. - wonder why the penalty wasn't given?
I literally just heard that on the TalkNorwichCity Youtube channel. Yet again, there is special attention to the top of the table, and a ref getting removed coz he follows Leicester! And the bottom of the table?! ....."Oh there is a bottom of the table!?!?!"
Again, say the fact hadn't been mentioned, and that ref took control of that match? Then came out after all this news? What would the coverage be like? This has come out about the ref in our game. I heard it first on a youtube fan channel that's not that popular, then heard it on here. I'd amazed if any news papers ran with it on the back page? I doubt any paper but the EDP would mention it? Yet it is so so so much more important! Relegation or survival make or ends clubs now adays.
Spurs managed to change their ref for this weekend when they found out he was a Leicester fan and it made headlines, but I guess the top 4 is more important than relegation... edit just saw your post above about this, should catch up on a thread before posting.
So, yet again we have a weekend/midweek games where the officials are taking the headlines!! At least in the PL next season we will have a TMO, which should go some way to allay the disputes.
