They'll be living off this years - the night they snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in the Q-F of the UEFA Cup <doh>
of course and why not - that was a great comeback in a european game with a wonderful atmopsphere but as i posted on our board it would still be a great memory if it was the Johnsons paint trophy purely because it was a memorable game.

and i'm sure if it had been you lot in the last round we would have been hearing about it for years to <whistle>
but who cares it was awful and brilliant and why we love/hate football<cheers>

I

It was an amazing comeback and as you say it's games like that, that make football the great game that it is. <ok>

Again, Spurs must ensure they finish in the top 3.

The Uefa regulations for the scenario are below:

3.09 If the Champions League titleholder and the Europa League titleholder come from the same association and do not qualify for the competition through their domestic championship, one of the following scenarios applies:

a. If the association is entitled to four places in the competition and both titleholders qualify for the Europa League through their domestic championship, the lowest-placed of the association’s Champions League representatives is automatically transferred to the Europa League (into the Europa League group stage where a vacancy is created). In this case, the association of the titleholders is entitled to one additional place (total of five) in the Champions League, but the combined number of places to which it is entitled in the two competitions does not change.

b. If the association is entitled to four places in the competition and only one titleholder qualifies for the Europa League through its domestic championship, the lowest-placed of the association’s Champions League representatives is automatically transferred to the Europa League (into the Europa League group stage and the access list will be rebalanced accordingly). In this case, the association of the titleholders is entitled to one additional place (total of five) in the Champions League, but the number of places to which it is entitled in the Europa League does not change.

c. If the association is entitled to four places in the Champions League and neither titleholder qualifies for the Europa League through its domestic championship, the lowest-placed of the association’s Champions League representatives is automatically transferred to the Europa League (into the Europa League group stage and the access list will be rebalanced accordingly). In this case, the association of the titleholders is entitled to one additional place (total of five) in the Champions League and one additional place (total of four) in the Europa League.

d. If the association is entitled to four places in the Champions League and Tottenham Hotspur qualify for one of those places, UEFA reserve the right to parachute in any club it sees fit on the basis of any old made up rule they may come up with to do a favour to some extremely wealthy club owner who offers hookers, cocaine or similar to UEFA delegates.

I'd like to see the EL return to the old UEFA system.Just a two leg knockout competition instead of the top 2 out of 4 going through. It's too long and just there to make money.
I bet the players would prefer that too.

I maybe being slightly thick here, but the Wet Spam OS deal is for 25 match days per season, next season it is highly likely that they will be in Europe, assuming they bother trying in the qualifier that means 19 league matches and a minimum of 4 Europa league, not much scope for a cup run factored into that would they have asked to Barry if they can play at Brisbane Road once they have played their 25?

They just have to pay a bit more rent for extra games. They have basically stolen the stadium from the Taxpayer.

I liked your post on the understanding that you realised that you lot here is Man United.

CL odds:

Bayern 6/4
Real 9/4
Atletico 4/1
City 15/2

The bookies don't fancy City

But we all want City to win for the good of English football, don't we?;)

Ronaldo has 16 CL goals this season and 94 in total. That won't give Otamendi or Mangala or Demichelis cause for concern, will it?

A little nervous that your 2 biggest rivals could be heading for European Trophies? Of course we'll drop to 4th and then it will rebound totally on us.
