Ok. Neither am I. I'm banned from being the head of state in the country I am from due to my perceived religion. Pretty bad?
Not particularly. I mean, I wouldn't consider myself either strongly republican or monarchist. I'd disestablish the Church of England and remove the Queen's title 'Defender of the Faith' so Britain is officially and in practice a secular nation. My preferred form of government is elective monarchy.
Historically, they've varied. The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth elected their kings amongst their own aristocracy. Norse kings during the Viking Age were elected at assemblies called a þing, nobles and freemen (usually peasant farmers) could vote. In the UK, I guess instead of the throne just passing to the eldest child a referendum or election could be held. After the Queen dies the people could hypothetically choose Charles, William or even Harry if they preferred. The British seem to like the monarchy and there's no real enthusiasm to get rid but I reckon quite a few would prefer Charles be overlooked completely in favour of William. They'd still be a ceremonial Head of State with no power. If and when the time comes the people get bored of the monarchy, the British people could campaign for its abolition and for a republic and I wouldn't really be bothered either way. The Danes, Norwegians and Swedes are far more monarchist than us and those countries are considered the most progressive and egalitarian in the world. I'd also cut all taxpaying funding for them; let them live off the revenue they earn from the Crown Estates etc. and tax them on it.
course you dont now i have made you look a ****. As a few good members on here would say ''in yer pop'' you need to look a the definition of bigot. I dont give a **** what anyone does, and i certainly dont discriminate as a result of it. I have s much to say in the sentencing of anyone as you do with say saville
