Might I suggest Vodafone for better coverage? Why use the mobile network anyway?

That's a lovely area. We stayed on the Dingle Peninsula a few years ago and visited Killarney and of course the Ring of Kerry. Beautiful scenery.

Didn't know I was opening a can of worms :) I have interrogated my sister-in-law and she says she travels a lot. Couldn't answer why she had 3...just that she has. She says it is such a rural area that you can walk to the end of the lane and lose connection. They don't have a dustbin collection for heaven's sake!!! Interestingly she has just completed a 2 year IT course, because in Ireland you can't get benefits without doing something, so she took a college course in her sixties. She was at the same college as her two sons...bet they loved that. Sounds a good idea. Bless her, she's left her phone because I whimpered about being left without internet. :)

One reason to have 3 Network, if you travel often, is that you don't incur extra charges while overseas. It all goes on your 3 contract. It's a reciprocal arrangement 3 have with various countries around the World, so that might be the reason.

Far be from me to recommend anything from the Murdoch stable, but Sky Broadband works reasonably well in out of the way places because the download signal comes from a satellite and doesn't require the usual infrastructure. The upload signal can be taken care of by phone, and because there is less required speed in the upload signal it doesn't usually become a problem. Unless you're a big forum poster. ;)

Lovely area, however I try to avoid Killarney itself as it's filled with Americans :)

Will you get a chance to get over to the Ring of Kerry? That's stunning.

My wife's cousin got married in Waterville on the South western part of the Ring. Another cousin lives on the Dingle peninsular (the other side of it to Dingle) and we went there for a holiday in 2012. It was amazing. Almost every window in their house looks onto the Atlantic.

We stayed not far from Inch Beach. I remember the coastline and the waves crashing against the rocks on the northern side. I could have watched them for hours. Lovely place to have a property.

We stayed almost dead opposite you on the other side the hill; just outside Camp.

Went there a lot when my rellies lived in the mountains (Macgillicuddy's Reeks). Beautiful area, but then it all is. The Irish can be very friendly....except when they are not!! My nephew had to change schools because of bullying because he was English, but my sister-in-law is pretty integrated.

It appears that processed food giant Mars really do only want you to have one Dolmio day a week:

When's your Dolmio day? Me? I've never had one.

Don't have them often...say once a year, but Dolmio sauces are quite tasty, but don't judge by me as I am no food connoisseur. You have to understand that the reason I have Dolmios so rarely is because you have to cook something to go in the sauce. I'm horrified if a tin doesn't have a ring pull.

Yeah, you've mentioned about not being able to cook before. How do you manage it?

Some dickheads thought it would be a great idea to commit an armed robbery of a jewellery shop in the middle of Winchester this morning. Obviously the shop had a silent alarm which was triggered. Now to those who don't know the centre of Winchester very well it has a one way system with a speed limit of 20mph. The getaway van was in a loading bay on the one way system just a couple of hundred yards away. It took the police a nanosecond to figure out the van was the getaway vehicle when they arrived on the scene and the driver was arrested. This forced the other two to make a run for it. This lasted for about 10 seconds before they ran into a a group of armed police officers. So people that is not how to carry out an armed robbery!

Further on the racing marbles, Auntie Beeb put up the their article from this race. NSFW if your sound is on. Funny though:

Brilliant. Looks like a lot of work but fabulous to watch, and presumably, if you're drunk enough, bet on!
