Yep - his corners were bang on. Funny watching those highlights though and remembering how much we relied on Tiss for some magic.
Apart from the usual amazing things he did I was always hugely impressed by the amount of bend he could put on the ball without any seeming wind up effort. By comparison, Beckham used to twist himself into a knot. Matt's free kick in the video where he bent it around the wall started out heading halfway to the corner flag. He did quite a few free kicks to the near post, with a lot of success. Did one against Villa, as I remembered. That started out heading towards the corner flag too and bent right back in.
In all my years as a Saints fan, Everton away and Spurs away are 2 fixtures I look at and think " I'm going to need a beer tonight! "
As regards associating having a pint after a match, I've always had a tradition of only having a drink if Saints win. Consequently I was invariably stone cold sober during the large parts of the 1990's and almost tea-total throughout 2008. These days one can get quite a sway on, at times.
He's been worth the £4m purely for his winner at Old Trafford, but it will be a great shame if that's his lot with us. Not discounting him yet though.
No, of course not. But there were a few on here who were welcoming him as the new messiah, and he is never going to be that, even if he was fit all the time. For the money, I'd rather have him than not though.
I was under the West stand for that one. In today's sanitised football the second goal wouldn't have happened as a free kick would have been given for Marsden's raised foot tackle, even though he only played the ball.
Saints are travelling to Liverpool in a geriatric Boeing 737 today, 24 years old and it was once in the KLM fleet, now registered SX-ATF. Due to depart at 16:00 as GNJ074,
Where's that aircraft tracking site? EDIT: False alarm. Found it. Bookmarked: https://www.flightradar24.com/60,15/6
