I loved "The Little Latvian was only a foot off the ground when he headed that in". So he was standing
John Bailey got Osgood sent off, effectively ending his career with The Saints (but this was when he was at Blackburn). Bailey was much hated by Saints fans at the time and was always well verbally 'abused' to the point that he was regularly and mysteriously injured when Everton played at The Dell. Bizarrely, we then decided to boo anyone called Bailey from any club which must have confused a lot of innocent Baileys. This went on for quite a few years. Weird but true!
That miss by Mark Hughes! Great to see Dave Jones smiling at the end though. I still feel bad about him.
I've answered my own question: it's called No Smoke No Fire. I've just put it on my Kindle! Thanks for the recommendation Fats!
Few posts about it here: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/archive/index.php/t-10105.html?s=9b4c9e4adc758161255187000d4a8457
Bloody hell Teeth, you're a glutton for punishment. Be careful though " we don't want the forum to descend into an irresponsible rumour shop" do we?
Some funny posts on there. I seem to be the only one remembering booing anyone called Bailey though. I'm sure its the reason why there have been so few Baileys in the professional game seeing that its quite a common name
I thought that Jordy was simply outstanding on that front last week. Astoundingly good. One corner that went slightly too far (but recoverable), the rest being perfect and a free kick that missed by four inches. Vin
