El-Hadji Diouf's international career appears to be over after the Senegal Football Federation hit him with a five-year ban from all football-related activity in his home country. The committee wanted to ask Diouf about comments he had made on Radio France International, claiming that "the whole system of African football is corrupt". The federation claimed Diouf had been called to a hearing on July 20, but the Blackburn forward insisted he had heard nothing of it, and then told French magazine Stade he would "go to war" with the FSF if they took further action. The FSF said Diouf is banned "from performing any football-related activity for a period of five years with effect from the date of notification of this decision". It remains possible, according to the FSF, that the decision could be reversed if Diouf were to appear before the disciplinary committee. The news comes as Diouf's club career hangs in the balance. He has been fined by Blackburn for failing to report on time for pre-season training, and was left out for their pre-season tour to Hong Kong. Manager Steve Kean said in an interview with Sky Sports this week that he thought it was time for Diouf to leave the club, indicating that enquiries have been made by other clubs.
Maybe he heard about Blackburns promotional video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRkZ21RJQ0g&feature=player_embedded embarrasing.
if your a brilliant footballer sometimes these things slide but diouf is so average its unreal. Can't believe he was once considered one of the top 50 players in the world on the back of a world cup. He made no impact at Safc apart from being fouled and winning a free kick for rico to.smash it home to.see off that smelly lot up the road. He is the definition of a liability.
I can understand why Keane wanted players to spark the club into life and although there were a few unhappy voices at the time, he was welcomed by many when we signied him. However, hind-sight is a wonderful thing and I can think of no fan who wasnt glad to see the back of the man, once we had got a close up of the puke he is. Not a player that will be remembered fondly at ANY of his previous clubs IMO. Thats got to be unique in my experience.
I carnt understand how he can call someone else corrupt when rumour has it him and akon own a blood diamond field.
Say what you like about Warnock. I'm a big fan of the bloke and love his straight talking. He will be a welcome voice in a mundane world this season with Ian Holloway's team sadly relegated.
won us the free kick that richo buried past shay given, apart from that he was useless for us, pity nicky butt didn't finish his career with that tackle, horrible horrible person
May the crabs of a thousand dirty hookers infest the crotch of his shorts and may his arms be too short to scratch.
