Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri says that he will not desert Leicester for a more illustrious club after leading the Foxes to the brink of an extraordinary Premier League title triumph.
"I am happy here and I’m not thinking about a change," he told Kicker, via 101 Great Goals.
"I think Leicester will be my last stop. I hope they give me a long contract, so about six or seven years. And then I finish my career here."

Man is 64 - would like us to hire a much younger coach to learn from him and hopefully take over in the future - maybe we should nab Chris Powell from potentially becoming NP's assistant?

He wants to still be a manager at 71 ? I´d say 2 more if I was him.

Most have the mental capacity to learn and convey tactics but it takes a special manager to get the players running through walls for you.

He'll probably get sacked next year. Oddly, that's football.

He is still got another 2 years and with his age we would be stupid to give him a 6 or 7 year contract

For now i would leave him on his current deal but give him a payrise for the success he has brought

Age isn't a problem when it's a youth player if their good enough their old enough same could be said if their good enough they are young enough. I see him building a dynasty with a someone from the team stepping in and or up to the role, and continuing with this exciting brand of football that is the Leicester way.

I would not be surprised to see him given at least a 2 year extension at the season end, particularly if we win the title ...that would be both in recognition of what has been acheived but also to deter any potential suitors ... let's not forget he is a couple of years younger than Guus Hiddink ... and Hiddink certainly won't be short of job offers when he leaves Chelski ...

What an outrageous request from the manager! After all, what has Claudio ever done for us.....? <laugh>

... the question really is why should Claudio stop being a great manager over the next 7 years? ... there is no logical reason ... he leaves the physical training work largely to Shakey and co and concentrates his efforts on the tactical and player motivational side ... his at times brilliant game management has been a huge factor in our current success i.e making changes and tweaks at the right time, whether it is by substitutes or merely formation player positions ... why, realistically, should another calendar year on his body clock affect that ability detrimentally? ... realistically it won't ... it comes down to whether we have the right players to undertake his vison etc ... currently we do and the club is building something very special .... both on and off the pitch ... . I'd love to see us with a 45-50k seater stadium regularly competing for a top 6 spot ... given the size of the city and that there is only one league team within the county boundaries, that is not as far fetched as it once would have sounded ... continuing 'success' will also attract a fair few 'plastics' from further afield <laugh>. .

    Forza Claudio! <ok>

    Fergie retired at 71.

If Claudio gets another 7 years here then he will also retire at 71.

Fergie won 5 titles between 65 & 71 so age is definately no barrier....over to you Claudio.

At the end of the day managers rarely stay more than 2 years. A 7 year contract would be absolutely stupid. Look at mourinho at Chelsea. Yes he has done well this year but next year is a brand new season and absolutely anything could happen

I remember Alan Pardew getting a 10 year contract at Newcastle - I'm not sure he lasted 10 months after that.

Newcastle aren't exactly a shining example of how to run a football club though are they....

We'll haveto see if Claudios second season syndrome kicks in, it's happened to him various times before. Lets hope he can break that.
