Very exciting news and continues our development in the US market and gives us a real financial boost in the commercial department
Previous kit deal with Adidas was 5m a year, reportedly. So that would peg this at between a 700k or 3m increase, assuming we didn't have to pay anything to get out of the previous deal. In all likelihood though, we're in this more to raise our profile in the US than owing to the financial details of the deal itself. I haven't really seen what they have done with Spurs, but Under Armor has a reputation for having a smaller stable of athletes and teams than Nike/Adidas (for now, at least) but marketing the bejeezus out of them...it's how they landed Stephen Curry, who might be the most popular major sport athlete in North America right now.
Might well be...5m was the total suggested by various sites for the deal's value this season, but we won't really know until the '15/'16 books are released.
I know. But all the rumours were the deal was £8m a year for 5 years. So £40m in all. But in truth the deal was 7yrs.
Yeah, sorry. I know that you don't need it explained, just going off on a tangent after quoting you because I lack the ability to stick to one thought at a time.
But.....but.....it's lovely......just had Chinese and a couple of Guinness to wash it down....err ohh Anyone know the biggest size they will go up to
Not one to play to stereotypes , but they're an American company. So I would imagine they cater for the fuller figure. They might even release two types of fit
Well done for your posts DTLW,some of us have hopeless broadband and even worse IT skills so your input is both good and much appreciated. looks like we're moving up a gear doesn't it ?
It's a million miles from the era of Rupert Lowe who couldn't generate a single penny of investment income purely because he was chairman. Less than 8 years on.
From what I can tell, Under Armour currently only produce football kits for Spurs & AZ Alkmarr. So this is definitely going to be a unique design. Some of their boots are quite funky as well. Some of those pledges from the video are a bit corporate and wishy washy, but it will be interesting to find out how they intend to improve the fitness and nutrition of the fans. Will the Northam concourse have a juice bar next season?
Anything development to our apauling catering facility would be welcome....even a juice bar! Would prefer a decent coffee for a start
Good news, and decent money, although seven years is a long deal. I hope this can still be considered a good deal in five, six and seven years time. We're due to get a new sponsor this summer as well aren't we? Hopefully that brings in even more cash.
Samsung still without a Premiership club since loosing Chelski but suspect our new sponsor may be from USA
