Manfred Mann's Earth Band were the best live band I saw - way back in the 70s.

Yes I was, but I didn't know him. I was busy drinking and generally avoiding work.

One of my closest friends was there from 81-84. You may remember him as he was the only student there at that time with a mohican. I forget Keith's surname (age has done for my memory), he was one of the Ents. people and booked most of the bands. I saw SLF, Undertones and quite a few others there for minimal admission (ok, I got in free).

Apparently Kevin Friend has now been removed from officiating our game because he lives in Leicester !!

I was hoping he would try to show that he is a top professional by awarding us a few penalties to counteract claims of bias.

Hence my argument that all referees from London should be removed from Man United games.

    They have been: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Select_Group_Referees
There haven't been any Premier League refs from London for years, for some reason.

Dele Alli says he'd rather hang up his boots than play for Arsenal!

    Good lad!.

  15. Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, but just saw it on the BBC website.
Pretty sad indictment of Newcastle FC - although maybe surprisingly, Pardew appears to be the only one coming out with any credibility intact.

Sounds like the hand of fat Mike in all this. The puppets just move to whatever tune he plays,

Scumbag treatment of a loyal player by a decent club, currently owned by a scumbag!

  18. Fair point - I picked up on the first part rather than the 2nd... But he still came out better than Charnley & Carver!! <laugh>
    • Former Newcastle boss Alan Pardew "was able to deliver his evidence in a confident, convincing and articulate way".
    • However, "the detail of what was said was not necessarily as credible as the manner in which the evidence was delivered". Some of Pardew's evidence was deemed to be contradictory and "inconsistent".

Not a great season for our Northeastern clubs, is it?
Losing on the pitch and losing in court, too.
