Palace have been a disaster zone for longer.

If the mancs have the habit you describe then an fa cup semi is perfect time to turn up.. so if its cos the other sides are so ****e utd will play ****e ok... but... we have to ay they socred a good opener and have players to do it.

everton should have but they rarely beat utd.

Couldn't be bothered to start new thread but some new laws been published.

An 'accidental foul' leading to denying a goal scoring opportunity will no longer be a red card offence, instead only being a yellow.

Players who are fouled and the offender gets a yellow/red card can receive some treatment on the pitch without having to go off so they aren't punished by being a man down.

And most importantly, the ball can go in any direction from kick off now, not just forward! Praise the Lord!

oh... i did start one... you got this in first though.

it looks to me like rules designed to help the divers, cheaters and snide.

if you roll about and get someone a yellow now you can lay down for 2 mins and waste time.. well done football.

completely the opposite of what people want i think

for me the rule should be if i stop the game to get you treatment you stay off for 5mins. let them whine about being hurt. they can get up and hobble off if thy need treatment and if i stop for what looks serious then you are off and timed by 4th offical.

Agree. I do prefer the yellow card for the last man if the foul was an accident though.

Thats still not punishing the team that commited te offence.

It it should be if someone goes off for treatment, the offending player must leave the pitch for a minute if it's deemed worthy of a yellow card.

Look when its a pen and... sure but when refs start doing utd favours by giving yellows for professional fouls while others get sent off will you be happy.

If someone makes an effort to get the ball and gives a pen away it shoudl not even be a yellow. the function of a pen is to give a goal scoring chance back.

If someone pulls someone down outside the box the original rule intent was to punish that.

I just see uncertainty added to the rules.

I can see the intetn but it will be exploited.

The treatment one is bollox and i can see nothing but rolling about and guys looking up to see if ref is reaching then dropping for treatment.

I can see games ending in extra time with refs standing there looking stupid for booking someone and his opponent dropping like a stone and demanding treatment. refs will not book them for it. I absolutely hate watching el classico as a result. its useless football.

If someone fouls someone for real they get punished.

If someone rolls about like a girl then pops up and runs back on they are faking pure and simple. Get the divers off the pitch.

we all know 9/10 times theres not a thing wrong with the guys dropping and getting the ref to stop the game to walk off wave and run back on.

How many times a game do we see genuine actual treatment? once? twice max? the rest are all faked.

Fine if its a yellow off the other guy goes but i think you've got to need treatment to get the game stopped. and refs can't be trusted to manage it cos they all defaulted to how they get least problems. If a ref dared tell a guy to get off or not wave him back on he's got trouble for himself. stop the game 40 times sure why not.. its only the show thats disrupted.

Agree with MITO, this is just going to encourage more european footballers who are the main culprits from rolling around on the floor in european matches when they are ahead in the game

tbf the big clubs get away with this a lot anyway and agree with your penalty assessment (although what do you do when you deliberately deny a certain goal ala suarez). If anything refs bottle it more and award nothing whatsoever when it could be a pen and red card so i think actually its probably more in favour of the small club nowadays

Totally agree again. Not just that the refs already (at least in the league) allow the players to get proper treatment when it looks like they are serious injured. The only time players get told to go off to the side is when it doesn't look like a serious injury anyway

If you deny a goal outside the box then its red i think.. this rule applies to in the box.

I think in general saying give the pen is better than some guy sticks out a hand and blocks a goal and its red.

of course theres the paul scholes case where he stuck out hand stopped a ball on the line and was given only a yellow... so.....

Why should a team be punished and have to go a man down for being on the end of a bad tackle? What if the other team go up the other end and take advantage before he can get back on the pitch? What if he's the pen taker and he's not allowed back on to take the penalty, or the free kick, or the big CF who would have got on the end of the free kick?

How often does that happen and how often do people dive to waste time and pretend to be injured? In terms of fairness i would say you are helping the activity of divers and time wasters which account for 95% of the incidents rather than the few times a player who is seriously injured (the game normally stops for them anyway) and the partially injured who are off for at most a couple of minutes.

Surely you rule in favour of the far more common and disruptive event than the rare case.

the players exploit refs and authorities being scared of looking like they don't care about player welfare. No ref can dare accuse a player of not being injured if they roll about.

The rule should be if i blow whistle and come over you better be hurt enough to require 5 mins treatment as if not its a yellow card.

Which game was it recently the guy with a hamstring injury came back on after limping off slowly for treatment, strolled back on lay down and strolled off again? that was a genuine injury but in that case the SHOW which we pay for was hurt by clowning and he should have been off for 5mins IMO. he knew he was done. everyone knew it but went back on anyway. was that city game?

If you win tonight the gods are on your side, and you'll win the EL and enter the CL, and can have a nice smirk at United fans if they finish a point ahead of you!!
