We´re Hitchcock-like masters of suspense For had we won there yesterday, This upcoming game might not have been so tense But that´s just not the Norwich way We seldom take any easy route When plotting our course through the year, And before our labours can bear any fruit Our emotions much touch every gear With live tv turning up too What better to make the stands shake, Than a six point horror to loom into view Where the ultimate goal is at stake But then, as Mister A. Neil said Whatever the results this weekend, All matches until this season´s put to bed Will be monsters at either end So I hope our Palace go-slow Was a prelude to building up steam, For against Cats we must have all systems go If we want to double Sam´s team It now seems like a two horse race With one to swim and one to sink, For Newcastle once again stayed off the pace While Palace moved clear of the brink And whatever today should hatch When Wearside greet those Midland Blues, Will not lessen the stature of next week´s match It´s huge, and will make headline news. Spot on the money RBF, hopefully my run will continue. Over the years I have attended several games against Sunderland, both home and away, and I've never seel us lose to them. I'm going to the match next Saturday and sincerely hope my run of luck continues!
Fingers crossed, and don´t you dare be late arriving, - sadly I thought the worst thing about yesterday was Klose getting crocked, for............. In next week´s scrimmage And I really do hope I´m entirely wrong, I have this image Of Defoe running rings around Bennett and Bassong.
Afternoon everyone. Game of the season for both us this weekend. For us, if we get beat it will mean we're down beyond doubt, if you win you're safe, if you draw you're probably safe. Think it will be a draw myself. Big Sam expects us to maintain the outstanding goals to chances ratio we've had all season. Problem is it can't continue and hasn't. In the last month the goals have competently dried up. Big Sam will pin his hopes on us magically getting that overachieving clinical edge back rather than set us up to create more chance. Expect us to play a minimum of 2 DMs, Probably 3. Two of which will be played too far up the pitch and become ineffective. Our defence has improved massively since Jan, getting that first goal against us isn't as easy as it once was. Get first goal and you'll win it. I think it will be a draw though, Sam will play into your hands with his negative outlook. Won't be a pretty game with our midfield either. I think you'll be the happy fans come fulltime. And when Swansea beat the mags you'll be able to relax quite a bit. All squads at the bottom are poor. I'm not going to say you want it more as our lads clearly want it, But I think Alex Neil is the gaffer prepared to take this relegation by the scruff of it's neck and actually have his team take control their own destiny and play your way out of trouble.
I still feel a lot less happy than I might have done, knowing that Defoe will be there, lurking, especially as it seems unlikely that Klose will be fit - I´d certainly take a draw right now.
Big Sam thinks that we'll settle for a draw as well. I want us to go for a win, whilst keeping the balance between defence and attack that we've shown of late.
I don't think we know how to play for a draw. We get to nervous and erratic at the back. Have to go for the win.
Don't worry about it, we seem to know enough to make up for other teams intentions. You only need a draw anyway. You're the easiest match we've got left. If we don't make any ground tomorrow it's over imo.
You do seem to have mastered how to battle out a point. I'm a bit worried about your ability to shut out our really, really blunt attack, and Mr Defoe up front for you. Can't see him not scoring.
We need two goals at least, you will force us deep at some point and we'll buckle. Most of those draws have come from winning positions you see. If you attack the flanks, our fullbacks can't defend for ****, once you start getting behind our back line we'll drop deep and it's just a matter of time. We're ****
Seriously, once we drop deep we can't raise the line. Everyone panics, Defoe gets the long ball, we lose possession and the ball comes straight back at us. Just watch
