The chap has explained why he said it and is still getting hammered. Personally I think we should encourage people with contacts to share news they hear, even if they can't name sources or give links. Feels a bit like some people are a little jealous of those with contacts. Don't get the fuss really.

This reminded me of the only time I went to Goodison. In 1978 I took my heavily pregnant wife to the match. After explaining that we would be sitting in the 'stands', we ended up in the Everton section. I had a lively discussion with surrounding supporters on the merits of John Bailey as footballer. It got quite heated when he managed to get a repeatedly fouled player sent off for retaliation. Can't remember who. He has remained a classic example of football from the dark ages.
