A couple of years ago I was at a corporate booze up and was seated next to this guy who was a motivational coach, an iron man triathlete and a mountaineer. I was having a good moan up at him about what I'd like to do if only. He looked me straight in the eyes and told me I was talking bollocks and if I really wanted something I would find a way. He told me to go home and write a business plan working out what I would need to do to get where I wanted whilst being realistic.
The next day when I'd sobered up I did just that. It's definitely taken longer than I first thought but I'm pretty sure in 5 years time (unless I rediscover beer and women) I will be able to achieve it!!!

Up there in my all time fave car list. Sod Tesla, would happily punch one of these round a Finnish forest any day of the week. The trees can do the envitonmental work...

Nope, not 'better' as such, but way more dangerous and you had to be a complete psycho (Usually from Finland) to drive one to it's limits.

Henri Toivonen was the psycho on that day in '86, he stuck it down a ravine and it set on fire, killing him and his co-pilot. That was the end of the S4 and Group B as it was.

A car that just couldn't be controlled.

Group B metro was the 6R4, there's still loads of them around on the scene.

Hot hatches from the 80's were incredible, nowt like them lot nowadays.

I once went out with a lass from Glasgow who had a Fiat Uno turbo.
    What a ****ing mental car!!
****er could do 130 on the straight but wouldn't go around bends at speed & braking was a major problem.
Fiat in their infinite wisdom decided to to fit a turbo to a highly tuned engine on a little, lightweight hatchback without beefing up the chassis, suspension or brakes. <doh>
They were crazy but ****ing deathtraps.

Loads of cars like that mate, it was all about strapping as much power down in a little shed as you can get.

Some worked, and when they worked they were incredible, like the 205 T-16 and the Metro 6R4... others were more memorable for bad reasons!

I would love to be a football coach professionally. Been coaching kids for over 20yrs but just never had the time to go on and do my qualifications. Funny how life just gets in the way of doing what you want to do.

There's one called the 4M4 buzzing around somewhere in the UK on the rally scene, it goes like stink, usually blitzes all of the Subaru and Fords.

Exactly mate, that's what the thread is about... life getting in the way... it's almost like it's human nature to put others first.

We get into the habit of providing a lifestyle for our families and then it becomes scary to even think about taking a risk Tel. I turned 50 last week and even now with all of my kids getting very close to being 18 I still fret about not being able to provide our current lifestyle.

It's fear innit. It takes a huge leap of faith to go for your dreams, nobody likes the prospect of failure.
