please log in to view this image Hot on the heals of my maiden thread victory, I welcome you all to ANOTHER super duper, ultra positive thread for the journey of the Scintillating, Sensational, Stunning, Stupendous, Super Saints!!! (SSSSSS) of 239 miles from St Mary’s (or 188 miles if you fly) to the home of the Toffees, otherwise known as Everton and the destroyer of childhood dreams 32 years ago to this very weekend…. Any negativity will be ridiculed and happy clapping is actively encouraged. There is a strict ban on mentioning any former Everton player who’s name means grassland. The SSSSSS are back on the road after an easy game against a sorry Newcastle. As one pundit put it, SSSSSS would have not found it any easier if they had played against cardboard cutouts. The SSSSSS second goal even looked as if it was against cardboard cutouts – even had Graziano slipping up before Shane Long’s (deliberate) pass to him SSSSSS go into the game as clear favourites – there is no reason to see anything other than another huge win. We STILL sit 7th in the table, we are STILL on a roll; we are a mighty TEN points above the Toffees and surely knocking on the door of Europe. We have had a rest since probably before the International break, Everton were involved in a bore draw with Palace on Wednesday, so just 3 days rest – and they lost James McCarthy to two yellows, so a one game ban They are winless in FIVE league games. Form coming in to this one: SSSSSS: SSSSSS v Sunderland 1-1 – we equalised in the last minute, if there were 2 more mins left, we’d have won 5-1 Stoke v SSSSSS 1-2 – Mighty win against a good Stoke side, Pelle back to his best! SSSSSS v Liverpool – 3-2 Gave them a chance, but they were blown away by the brilliance of Pelle, Mane and Wanyama. We even missed a pen on purpose so not to embarrass them. Leicester v SSSSS – Aside from SSSSSS we want them to win the league. This was our present to Ranieri & co. Great performance, 2 clear/debatable (delete as you see fit – but PLEASE we have argued it to death!) penalty claims. SSSSSS v Newcastle – 3-1. Could/should have been more. Stroll in the park and no danger of anything else. Great to see Jay Rod back Everton Everton 2 West Ham 3 – Even we won against the Hammers at home Everton 0 Arsenal 2 – Even we won against Arsenal at home Man Utd 1 Everton 0 – Even we won against Man U away Watford 1 Everton 1 – Bore draw Palace 0 Everton 0 – zzzzz bore draw. Matchday officials: Ref: Craig Pawson – Has been our ref 3 times this year (W2, D1) and has sent off Wanyama (who hasn’t?) Asst Ref 1: D Bryan Asst Ref 2: S Beck 4Th Official: T Harrington SSSSS line up last game: 44 Forster 15 Martina 6 Fonte 17 van Dijk 21 Bertrand 4 Clasie (Romeu 77 mins) 12 Wanyama 10 Mané 7 Long (Ward-Prowse 60 mins) 11 Tadic (Rodriguez 84 mins) 19 Pellè Everton line up last game: 1 Robles 23 Coleman 5 Stones 25 Funes Mori 3 Baines 16 McCarthy SENT OFF at 52mins 18 Barry Booked at 90mins 9 Koné (Besicat 54 mins) 20 Barkley (Mirallas 86 mins) 12 Lennon (Oviedo 69 mins) 10 Lukaku My Line up for SSSSSS: 44 Forster 15 Martina 6 Fonte 17 van Dijk 21 Bertrand 4 Clasie 12 Wanyama 10 Mané 7 Long 9 Rodriguez 19 Pellè I predict another 3-1 victory for us. Pellè 2 and Jay Rod 1. Lukaku for them. COYR!!!!! HAPPY CLAPPY:
I thought he said it was a positive thread? Jeez, I deleted that memory decades ago. Otherwise fine. There is an post edit button, remember. You can make our subsequent posts seem unnecessary.
Easy win for Saints as I won't be there. An unusual event. Goodson is a home game for me, and probably my favourite place to go. Everton fans are brilliant, and much as I am enjoying India I shall be envious of those who travel on Saturday. So in my absence Saints will walk it and leave me with that mixed emotion that fans can feel. Delight at winning mixed with the frustration of not being there! 0-3. Long to tear them apart.
Just having early brekkie before catching bus, ferry, taxi and plane to Ireland....nice thread to start my journey. A 3-1 or 3-0 win to Saints will do nicely. May manage to keep in touch if I can extricate his computer from my nephew's sweaty grasp and their internet is working (it's run by pedalling leprechauns over there).
Really hope they play Stones, with his inability to clear the ball but likes to do mess about in his own box this will suit our high press and Shlong will love it. 1-3 for me....COYRs
Everton are the Premier team I possibly like least of all because of a young man named Adrian and another much nastier man called Bailey. Just as we seem to be Newcastle's bogey team Everton seem to be ours and they play in blue, which is as far as I am concerned is another very good reason not to like them.
IMO this is such an important game. Win & a few results go our way this weekend or over the coming weeks & we could have so much to play for. Lose & all aspirations for EL will be gone. LFC have 2 games in hand & although I can see them dropping a few points, we need a buffer. Win & we could be breathing down the neck of MU / Spam & who knows where that could lead. It's certainly not "season defining" as we've had a pretty good campaign regardless, with some ups & downs, probably just lacking a bit of consistency but get this one right & it could look very pleasing. Personally I'd love us to match last years 7th or obviously better. COYS.
