I think that Jordan Veretout must feel even more stupid http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...ut-is-fighting-relegation-at-Aston-Villa.html
Jordan Veretout should feel stupid but Aranguiz made exactly the right decision at the time. He'd have been a bit of an idiot to turn us down for Champions League football at the start of the season.
Ah yes, I meant Jordan Veretout, I knew there were a few who turned us down (Kanté looked like he was going to as well!), I was trying to remember who the others were.
Am bored atm so thought I'd have a look - only the guys that we were officially after: Esteban Cambiasso - Offered him a new contract but left to join Olympiacos where he has won the league Anthony Knockaert - was offered a 4yr contract but left on a free to join Standard Leige. Is now on the bench at Brighton Jordan Veretout - bid for him but he rejected us to go to Villa and now everyone laughs at him Steven N'Zonzi - bid for him but he rejected us to go to Seville where he is a starter Charles Aránguiz - bid for him but he rejected us to go to Bayer Leverkusen where he unfortunately buggered himself up after starting 2 games Bakary Sako - tried to sign him on a free on a stupid wage but he joined Crystal Palace instead where he is a starter Alessandro Cannataro - had him on trial but signed for Bournemouth instead but got released and now plays in the Italian 4th division Charlie Austin - had a bid accepted but didn't want to join us and is now on the bench at Southampton Ahmed Musa - bid £20M but CSKA wanted more Think that was all of our official inquiries this season.
Unless there is someone better, yes - more I read about him, more he seems like our kind of player. Also he plays primarily on the right wing - can unfortunately see Mahrez leaving so would be a replacement.
I wouldn't say knockaert was on the bench. In his 16 available matches he has started 13, used substitue once and unused twice
