I can't stand him. But you are probably correct. We are certainly devoid of them and although I don't think Rosey and Macca are Ash or Brabin in that department, they are a damned sight better in character than what we replaced them with.

Deanos piece is interesting… and absolutely right of course. What strikes me is the difference between the two squads. This squad for my money have zero comprehension of what this club means to the people of this City, whether you are able to afford to go or watch when you can on TV, or what it can actually do for the region. Look at the Wembley squad, how many lived in Hull, have stayed in Hull, liked Hull and then ask the same of the current squad., My guess is, at 5pm on a Saturday they're out of the city pronto. How does a manager/club allow a player (Diame) that he has trusted (wrongly) all season to put it out there, that 'if we aren't promoted he's off' and at such a critical time. Where is the camaraderie…!!?.. and this is where the club are culpable IMO. We've had Deano on the sidelines all year. He should and could have been brought in, not only to give some help to the supposed forwards, but also instilling the needed ethic to get through a season and let these overpaid under managed 'footballers' know just what its like on a weekly basis for some people who pay the money to go and watch them under perform.

I have no idea what WUM means and I'm not too bothered what you think of my opinion to be honest.

The point stands that we don't win when we concede first, we lack character and two out of the door had a ton more than what came in. Ironically going back to Deano's thoughts, he sees that too. The best teams in ability don't always succeed, we are a case in point and although it's not everything, having more leaders and players who cared would have certainly helped.

    Ha!!

I just have a different view. Be boring if everyone thought the same. Also pretty patronising to say that because my opinion of Macca being "saved" by Bruce means I know nothing!?

I just disagree with you. [emoji1303]

Considering neither Macca or Rosey have been here during this flat and spineless period. It's not even like the performances haven't backed up my point.

    Ho hum.

I wasn't accusing you of being one, I was just telling you what WUM meant.

Paul McShame must be the worst central defender we've had in the last 8 years or so. I'm struggling to think of one whose distribution was as ****, whose reading and anticipation was so ****, whose ball control was so **** and whose man-marking and positioning was so ****.
In recent seasons we've had Dawson, Maguire, Davies, Chester, Bruce, Ayala, Gerrard, Hobbs, Zayatte, Mouyokolo.....all better all round defenders than PS.
There's a reason why he's playing for a Championship club rather than a PL one when his contract was up at City. He's not good enough for the level above.
You'll be wanting Peter Halmosi back next.

I'm not knocking Mcshane, I went to most of the games at the back end of last season and Rosy/Mcshane did not have enough of an impact to save us from relegation and Mcshane is no more of a leader than Maguire either. Rosy always seemed a quiet fella to me so surprising that people would think he would make any better captain than what we have now

This seems like a fair enough point and when you look at the relegation last year and how we have fizzled out this year there are enough similarities to make you wonder what is going on with the manager and players behind the scenes

Got to disagree, the players were abject at the end of last season, that Burnley game was a horror show

I have to wonder what I am reading sometimes, for me Mcshane has always been fairly clumsy and slow, the form he showed at the end of last season was great but he hardly ever produced that level for us or anybody else, probably why he ended up back in the Championship with Reading

Disagree all you want - the table showed that we barely scored a goal a game, that's over 38 games btw and not just an ''abject'' season end ..... you're welcome :emoticon-0148-yes:

We went down because the players were doing exactly what they are doing now, not enough to get the job done. We've never been a team that has scored goals, not for seasons now and it's never stopped us

    Bollocks.
He wasn't 'fairly clumsy and slow ', he was 'clumsy as **** and the slowest defender in the PL'.

I think I remember you on the old 606 site saying he had a head shaped like a 50 Pence bit, maybe that was half his problem
