The charity has received the money. Not as we'd hoped, for Christmas, but no matter? As Gordon says, the intended recipients have the money and are appreciative. I've no problem doing it again this year. But let's start in August?
I can drive, Terry, and the fastest that I've ever driven a Tranny (no, Billy ) is 127 mph . . . . am I on the shortlist
F*ck me I thought this was a Xmas thing. How come the dosh is still not paid? Is this the Just Giving thing?
every blood thing ive read about charities are a scam only the directors get new car new house bigger salary ext the only people that are a genuine charity are the sally army and 100% of the cash given go to Brits in need who have landed on hard times ex forces, and need causes so i do not give to any charity but Sally army
If you get caught you take the rap like a real man. I'll make sure you don't get bummed to death in jail.
Well the money got where it was supposed to go and that`s good enough for me. Took a while (and went the scenic route) but well done @Gordon Armstrong for taking it over & sorting it out.
Don't disagree with any of that. It was still a nice gesture from the board and a good idea from Tel. Best off if it's the last of it's kind though.
No reason why it should be the last JC. As you said, it was a good idea of Tel's. We just started too late and weren't aware of the technicalities of the payment system. Now we are. I'm happy to do it all again. It might be wise next time round, to start earlier, have a few nominations of worthy causes, have a vote, and then people can chose whether they want to contribute or not. Then withdraw the money with time to spare and had it over a couple of weeks before Christmas.
Maybe we could do animals next time so 4 months down the line we won't hear some dog chatting **** about Sunderland.
Can somebody please explain to me what the charity did to cause the ill feeling? Yes I know, I'm not very up to date.
It caused absolute ructions on the board. Accusations of people holding onto the money for their own gain etc. Fair enough if you would want to do it again but it wasn't worthwhile for me. Using cash people donated because they believed in a charity for positive publicity for Sunderland fans doesn't sit well with me either, so I'll not be involved personally.
