It's all part of the way of the world
Get everyone addicted then rob them
The same happened to me on Spotify by just three pounds but it's the principle

I sorted my out but took some time to work it out

It's hard to barter with a monopoly so find a way to get back £5 from the world each month ... Insurance? is a good bet they are struggling and won't pay out anyhow so you have get a deal there easily

dont let them get away with putting up your fee, because they do every imaginable thing to bring in more deals somewhere there will be some 19 year old female looking to get more commision she will already get her money even if you dont go through with the new deal
so what you do is first cancel everything completely then they start ringing you every day offering lower asnd lower deals untill you go right down to the basic
then you accept but only under the proviso thatyou can get some free deals
YES IT DEFFINATELY WORKS AND YES WE DO IT EVERY YEAR ONCE WE GAVE THEM SUCH A HARD TIME THEY GAVE US THREE MONTHS FOR FREE
    hope that helps

I actually do, when connected by wire to the router and when I'm in the house on my own. The peak speed I've measured actually hit 234Mb once :)

Caveat: I have two teenage daughters, so the number of wireless gadgets in my house means it's normally hard to check... :)

Wow, and you are not a Virgin employee? :emoticon-0105-wink: I'm tempted.

There is a good (free) app for Apple (doubtless also for Android) called SpeedSmart) which checks wireless speed and averages it out over time.

What do you watch on Sky Atlantic that you can't stream somewhere else? Same as Netflix - it's all available out there, for free, if you can be bothered to look. I know you've got a Kodi device col, so don't get cornered by Sky when it's already available for you, sometimes whole seasons ahead of what is shown on "Live" tv

I get 390 constant in France with Orange and 185 in London on a good day ... Had to get very nasty with last UK supplier who told me to check my wires ... They are all choking in the UK and depends on you location. I keep an mains powered iPad running Vimeo on a HD playlist over 17 days non stop every month as this sets your choke out to the maximum . If the router crashes then you have to establish another 17 day average ... That does it for me in the UK and after which your downloads should be constant

It works for me and I was tipped off that this was accurate by top brass at Talk Talk as we have just won the creative account there and was also told Virgin is the fastest on average and their choking parameters are set lower as they lost large numbers of customers in the past and have worked on their product to gain back their market share

No choking at all in my part of France and my new contact there just keeps to blown my mind ... Kodi is instant at 1080 and stable even after a few power strikes ... The other day I had guests with two kids glued to iPads
The two women in the house watched The Danish girl and I watched football on Kodi on a Ubuntu machine

My problem is that I'm such a luddite I really struggle with all the downloading that is necessary to get the best out of the Kodi box.

I really need some wiz-kid to pop round to my house and sort everything out for me so that I can can get all the Sports channels etc on the box. At present I can stream movies and the odd football match if I can get it to work.
I can never get Sports TV channels!

Did you get the latest update from Sports Devil? In the Sports TV option, there is a line labelled MamaHD - this has all the Sports channels (Sky, BT, Premier and more) - give that a try.

Also, just found out that there are issues with BT if you're using a Kodi device (a friend just bought one and was having trouble setting it up) but there is advice out there on how to overcome this

    https://seo-michael.co.uk/fix-bt-home-hub-kodi-issues/

There's a few other tricks on his website to help you out too.

If I was 400 miles closer to you, I'd pop round and help you!!!

I understand most of the individual words on this thread, but collectively, they make no sense.

I am fairly new to 'copy and paste', and until recently, I thought holding your finger on the iPhone screen brought up a magnifying glass; I now realise it is to site the icon.

Is there any hope for me?

Get back home? I've just done a check to see where you posted from. I'm getting Dallas, Texas. I think you should demand an assistant whilst on your business travels. I'm cheap and available <whistle>

Do you use your landline to make outgoing calls....if not, because you just use a mobile, phone Sky up and tell them to change your calls from Anytime UK to pay as you go and get more than your monthly increase back in savings. It's something they have automatically added to all bills since last year, where it was once freetime (no longer sold). I think it will depend on your package but you will save somewhere between £5 - £10 per month, I think my saving was £5 a month (£60 yearly) as I never use the landline.

I am in the States but not in Dallas. Got confused for a bit then noticed that I have the VPN on, and usually have that set to the US. If you are tracking us Ninesy I can lead you a merry dance mate.

My company has such respect for me that I am sure they would sanction an unpaid assistant, who can pay their own way. The job is yours.
