Prepare for disappointment, you have seen the best bit of Breaking Bad....Season 5 sucks, well, the second half of it does anyway. Anyone watch Season 2 premiere of Fear the Walking Dead?
I kinda agree with this, wouldn't say season 5 was a MASSIVE let down myself, but its certainly been the worst season of GoT so far, for me it goes like this..... Season 1 Season 3 Season 4 Season 2 Season 5 The trailer for s6 looks pretty cool though.....I must say.
I'll go through it again. Everything after Mike died was ****e. There isn't a single scene in Season 5 part 2 where Jessie isn't crying, or has red eyes because he has just finished crying. The whole series builds up to a Hank/Walt showdown, only for Hank to be killed off almost immediately after discovering Walt's identity and the new antagonists become these Redneck Neo Nazi's that were just introduced that we really don't care about. Show should have ended with Gus dying in Season 4 and Walt either dying from cancer or taking over Gus' empire.
Totally agree with that. It would have ended perfectly at the end of season 4. Do you think it had anything to do with them milking it for more money or because they couldn't let a bad guy Walt benefitting from crime?
Should have had it so Walt either dies of cancer or is killed somehow. But sells his meth recipe to Mike to provide for his family, Mike takes over Gus' Empire in partnership with Saul. (There's your spin off) Jessie moves in with that woman and her kid and lives happily ever after. Hank has to make a choice whether to arrest his Sister in Law and.or Nephew for receiving illegally gained drug money, but decides not to in the end and resigns from the force and leaves Skylar's sister. BOOM
Good stuff Bod, I agree BB at times was boring as hell. Worth a watch good show but not great. So far so good with BCS he's found his feet here and is doing a superb job it already blows BB away.
maybe so... it can't be far off. season 6 there is a very very strong desire for one character to not be dead. if this doesn't happen basically.... i think some people will go mad.
I never got the "dragging" effect with BB tbh, starting to get it with TWD though i must admit, ive left the last 2 shows of season 6 as i just cant seem to want to watch it anymore, thats probably cos i binged 6 seasons in 2 weeks lol
GoT seriously dragged season 5. you expect one huge episode either right at end or second last show. last year you had the burning at stake. battle at winterfell (minor IMO) Battle beyond wall was big. walk of shame. the the battle on the arena was the huge ending set piece battle really. then finished with stabby stabby. My issue is on this walk through yeah lots and lots happened but it just all felt like... filler... like the real story is whenever martin rolls out of this fat man bed after being sponge bathed by his nurse and types more than a word a day. there comes a point in any show where we desire some sort of progress. This is not the wire where eternal struggle is ok. the desire is that some stark gets vengence, real vengence and the blonde gets back to the throne and of course finally the real danger beyond the wall is dealt with. its this desire... you can't get away form it. just like TWD i could see how so many people would be erm.. either let them be eaten or resolve the thing. If its just about relationships between a few characters... well... isn't it dull?
The writing cannot be compared between TWD and GoT. TWD's writing is dictated by the network its on, in terms of swearing, nudity, the ad break intervals. You are aware AMC say to the writers "There's an ad at 09:10 so there needs to be a dramatic moment at 09:00" right? Plus the dialogue in TWD is..............its okay for a good zombie show, but its not great. GoT's writing is phenomenal, and up until last season, was impeccable. The acting is second to none on TV right now. I was annoyed that last season wasn't quite up to scratch, but then I found the last book rather dull too, so maybe things will get back to their best.
Love GoT, cant wait for the new season My mate watches shannarra chronicles and says he doesnt like GoT, ****in ****er! we aint mates no more.
Absolutely agree it's totally different but the fan desire to see a conclusion for who they are rooting for it there. My contrast is the wire where nobody was an angel and it ended just as it should.. Nothing changed the world just got by. I just felt that while lots did happen it all felt like side stories and not advancing the tale. Stanis had to die. But will snow replace? Will blonde seriously wander for 7 seasons? The whole lannister line... the church stuff.. do that season 2 or even 3 fine but this late on it just feels like they are holding the seat to keep it warm until the real part comes up.
I am not fussed, as long as the quality of the show is up there with the first 4 seasons, they can carry on for another 15 seasons for all I care. If Season 5's slight dip becomes a trend and the trajectory still looks like its down, then I will be calling for them to stop.
How long can blonde serious wander about. There has to be conclusions. Otherwise it's a waste of time. My view is this is really going to be about winter is coming and not about iron throne in end so the rest is political intrigue I'd like some stark vengeance
Anyone see vikings? Spoiler: Spoiler funny how Bjorn turns back up looking really tall and the man isn't it... rollos transformationtransformation is complete too. Really good episode.
It's not the acting I have issues with, as said it's generally high quality in the best shows now, and it's not even the scripts even though there are variances in the quality of the dialogue. It's the creative / production teams and overall series and episode structuring where the issues lie, and also with the networks who place the demands on them that lead to compromises and mishandling
