Thing is that option prob makes sense for Everton. If they have a chance of a cup why rock the boat. As much as we would like to wum, utd will win another fecking cup soon sadly so why are they not pulling the trigger.

Because no manager worth his salt would want to be linked with this season.
The time to change is in the summer when all can have a clean slate.

    1-0 <diva>

Skalek is some random player they signed from some random club.... but he's probably the best crosser of the ball I've seen in a long long time, from set pieces or from open play. The guy whips it in with pace and precision. Already got about 5 assists from crosses since January.

The big headlines that Wazza's appearance for the man yoo U-21's somehow earned them the win, when the winning goal came after Wazza was substituted.<laugh>

Villa have announced there will be redundancies after relegation, mostly via voluntary means.

Now ow this is just pathetic. Get rid of 30/40 people on 24k a year because that'll make a huge difference? How about tell all your players to take home £1000 a week less and you'll cover the normal people's salaries. You're going to get £100m in parachute payments over next few years but you can't afford to employ a few normal folk on normal salaries.

How any club these days can justify not giving a fair wage or job security to normal people when you look at the amount of money there is in the game is a joke.

I see your point, and I fully agree with it in principle.
However, in practice, the club will want to be competitive in footballing terms in order to arrest the decline and perhaps get back into the PL. This means they will have to pay the fees and wages required to get or keep the players they need.
Ancillary staff will be seen as expendable.

All of football is sick. The amount paid in transfer fees and wages is thoroughly obscene, but the only way it will change is if controlling measures are adopted across the board - globally even, and how likely is that?
Any individual clubs standing against it will just put themselves at a disadvantage.

Don't know who to watch tonight....think Real will fight back and Man C v PSG is tough to call. Can see myself changing channel like I did when I saw Juve having a go at Munich, before letting it all go.
