Jenkins will probably go for Gary Neville or Remi Garde :emoticon-0136-giggl

Strong speculation linking former boss Brendan Rodgers with a return has suggested that Guidolin has little to no chance of keeping a job he clearly so desperately wants. His attitude since he arrived has been first class, his desire and commitment to the cause is something us fans want to see at the club - isn't now a no brainer to offer the Italian at the very least a one-year contract?

Huw Jenkins explained that he will sit down with Guidolin to understand his thoughts on the situation.

'Over the next couple of weeks we are going to sit down and discuss Francesco's thoughts,'

'We will discuss his views on the team and the club and on the situation going forward.

'All the options are there — that has not changed from day one. The possibilities are all there.'

'We will be speaking with Francesco to go through his thoughts,' Jenkins added.

'We will see where he sees things — the plans for next season and the club — and we will discuss everyone's views.

'Results have improved from December onwards, and we can't say anything other than we are all delighted with how things have worked out.

I'll be very surprised if Guidolin doesn't get a new contract......................<party>

As much as I want Guido to stay , I don't expect him to get a new contract .
Jenkin's pretty well got everything wrong on the manager and transfer front from the start of the season till Around Christmas
Now that we have a bit of daylight from Guido and our striker situation mostly soothed , I can't imagine Jenkin's not fuking this up too.
More than likely a whole new start come summer from a new manager and if so , I hope he's a Gooder .
PS ... Who would have known when this thread was put up it could have been made a sticky for a very long time .

Not according to Huw , he says the takeover has nothing to do with manager issues ....which I find hard to believe .although he still holds a big position but as a non owner .
It sure seems a bit odd that when this story broke , a Bielsa story came out in the papers about how sure he was he would become Swansea' new manager in the summer now that it appears the Americanos will take over .
Their was a lot more to that Morgan / Jenkins flight to South America that we don't know about but my guess is they returned to Swansea disappointed , without what they thought was an agreement on a few things when they took off to meet Bielsa .

that's great mate, but I would imagine the yanks will have the final say, if this goes through. lets hope they don't want this guy or even their youth team coach.

Whenever I see Guido's name I keep thinking of Jeux Sans Frontiere with Guido Pancaldi and Gennaro Olivieri as the judges. And Stuart Hall and Eddie Waring.

    Anyone else get these visions?

We have a pretty good expierenced , easy going manager at the moment who has gone about his business pretty well . I think Palschi is very good value for the money . Not sure who was behind the Fer deal but it was during Guido's ( the elephant rider at times ) reign .
Frankly I see a good group of players right now except a bit of trouble at right and left back .
When this season is over the current manager will have had 16 games under his belt and all the learning will be up to speed just about .
To kick all that learning and development to the curb and start again with someone else .........isn't brilliant .
Guido brings a couple of ideas and players into the fray in the summer and off we go come August ....seems simple .

We will have to wait until the take over takes place or not but if these Americans do take over im sure they will leave the decision of who will be the manager for the chairman to decide...

The bit I liked from that link Stumpy was this:

“In the last few weeks we play always better, but I want to see my team play like the first half against Chelsea. “This is my attitude and my style, and my job is to build a team that plays in this way. I want more.” - Franco

He's here next season, Yanks or no Yanks..............<party>

'Francesco Guidolin is doing great things. I wish him to stay'... Federico Fernandez backs Swansea City's Italian boss. Federico Fernandez has given his full backing for Francesco Guidolin to stay as manger of Swansea City next season. But while the expected takeover from a US investment group is unlikely to have any impact on decisions on the manager for next year, it has long been suggested that Swansea will look elsewhere, with Brendan Rodgers' name still thought to be high on the agenda. Yet now defender Fernandez has come out to publicly back Guidolin and his wish to stay in charge, telling reporters in Italy: “Guidolin is a great coach and is doing great things. I wish him to remain.

“We are one step from mathematical safety and, after a difficult start, we have found the right balance thanks to the coach. Now we want to finish the season in the best way.” He stated last week he is willing to show a more adventurous side to his game having conceded he adopted a more safety-first approach in a bid to retain Swansea's top-flight status.

Looks like the players want him to stay............<ok>
