Isn't he one of many players who has had a big bust up with Fergie?

Yeah, he often cites it as the biggest regret of his time with United. Stam came back form an injury, got ripped apart by a quick striker and Fergie thought he'd lost a yard of pace, and that Lazio's £16m bid was too good to turn down for a player coming up to 30 at the time. Stam recovered from his injury though and went on to be very successful in Italy.

It was Chilean striker Ivan Zamorano, in the quarter final of the 1998/99 Champions League, United vs Inter.

I don't think they ever really fell out. Fergie wasn't too happy about the book Stam wrote (the one where he admitted that Fergie would endorse simulation in big European games because the foreign teams would do it to us, and where he called the Neville brothers "busy little ****s" <laugh>), and I think it playe4d a bigger part in his departure than Fergie was prepared to admit. He left on good terms though.

I'd do it but 'Der Baader Meinhof Komplex' isn't really snappy enough.

I can honestly say that the songs that get sung at Ibrox are Build My Gallows, Penny Arcade, Boughie Song, GSTQ, Every other Saturday, Born under a union jack and follow follow at the start of the half. That's about it.

  11. Isn't one of those 5 songs (one which you defended in the past as non-sectarian) "Build My Gallows"?

What about this favourite (sung at Parkhead last season by "Chelsea fans")

In dungeon deep I know what fate awaits me,
Tied hand and foot, the foe have bound me fast,
And in my haste, I pray that God above me,
Will grant me this wish I know will be my last.

Don't bury me in Eireann's Fenian valleys,
Just take me home, in Ulster let me rest,
And on my gravestone carve this simple message:
Here lies a soldier of the UVF.

Here lies a soldier, an Ulster soldier,
Who fought and died for all he loved the best,
Here lies a soldier, an Ulster soldier,
Here lies a soldier of the UVF.

So kindly drape the Red Hand round my shoulders,
Pin no heroes badges to my chest,
And if they ask, won't you kindly tell them,
Here lies a soldier of the UVF.

Here lies a soldier, an Ulster soldier,
Who fought and died for all he loved the best,
Here lies a soldier, an Ulster soldier,
Here lies a soldier of the UVF.

To be honest, Medro, I'm fed up arguing with you - your Comical Ali exploits are beyond nonsense - they're downright dangerous.

The only threads I've ever started on GC have been about pubes and pumping the CBeebies woman.

I only get dragged into your ****e when there's a real danger that neutral observers actually believe you.

    Ya pie.

    It isn't sectrian that's why.

'Here lies a soldier' was sung at Cup final?

    First I've heard about it.

Or are you telling pork pies?

  17. In the first line of my post it says "sung at Parkhead" - by Rangers fans (the Chelsea fans bit was a joke - hate to have to explain)

Build My Gallows - is that about a UVF member or just a lone nutter who killed Republicans?

Don't Tottenham fans have a song about Adebayor's dad washing elephants?

    Is that racist or sectarian?
