... Unless something drastic happens... For the last year now everyone has been banging on about N'zog and the left winger we need (apparently) and at last Bruce has confirmed this... Please tell me you can see it too. e.g on the books we have Stead, Richardson and Vaughan (even Sess can play there). That's right guys - ON THE LEFT... It seems to me that sometimes people like to play manager on here and flood the forums with repeated rubbish. Personally - I don't think we need a left winger and this will not be the answer to our (so called problems that we don't even have). The season hasn't even started yet and your'll worrying over nothing. I used to come on here and read interesting articles based on opinions that made visiting this forum worthwhile. Yes the transfer window is open but if you all can't see our business is done then I'm surprised at you all. Please give it a rest... It's boring the crap out of me... Sorry for the bitch but it's just getting bloody silly now. N'zog this, left winger that... Not directed at anyone personally but if you're all happy reading the same 300 articles on N'zog then knock yourselves out...
Kind of agree with this but if we do shift the deadwood I think we will buy again. I'm not a fan of Sess on the left and dont think the other 3 are natural wide men either..... That said I wouldn't be gutted if the window stopped today.
I think people are just generally excited about the new season and enjoy speculating on who might/might not be our new players- there's a simple solution if you don't like the articles on N'Zog.... don't read them!
Agree with the post in general - although i did shiver at the thought of Stead on the books!!! - IMO an out and out winger would disrupt the midfield 4 that will allow sess to do what sess does. A solid 4 with a player or 2 who can get forward and support ( gardner/ricco/larsson ) keeps us solid with a few attacking options. Personally I think we are short at the back. Brown Oshea Turner dubious injury records, titus could fall in this category too. Bardsley rock solid but after that we are down to unproven or inexperienced players - although I have high hopes for Laing this season. Hope he might break through and become a regular!!
Understand where you're coming from mate, but as last season proved, you need a big, quality, squad, even taking the restrictions into account.
Steed cant last 90 minutes, Richardson could but not done it to date, Vaughn not his best position,Sees a striker Bruce says. Sorry you think its rubbish dont have to read it I feel proper telt off now
I think we all know were we are weakest (for years now!) & that's why it keeps getting brought up. Nowt wrong with opinions mate & speculating about who/should/might come is all part of the fun of this forum/transfer window.
If I don't read something about the Left Wing every day, I get very upset. Then, when I'm done with politics, I dream of a canny winger on the left for Sunderland. Don't see the problem.
Ive seen a few times on here that people reckon Sess is no good on the left, i personally am uncertain. We have to remember when sess was playing on the left he was still bedding into the english style of play and could very well do us a job there. Obviously he has been fantastic playing off the striker but could this be more down to he is now settled? If we play him on the left we may see the same results. I still think a proven striker is still our no 1 priority.
I am fairly sure Bruce will have some irons in the fire still. They might be loan deals they might be permanent signings but I am almost 100% sure we will see more player come in before the end of the window. Last season we started the season lined up something like this: Mignolet, Onuoha, Mensah, Bramble, Richardson Elmohamady, Cattermole (C), Henderson, Malbranque, Bent, Campbell. We then bought Gyan and of course Welbeck started to come into form. We could potentially start like this against Liverpool Mignolet, Bardo, Brown, Bramble, Richardson Larsson, Cattermole, Gardener, Malbranque, Sess, Gyan. I suppose the above is a slightly stronger team, but with all due respect to Steed if we had a genuine left winger it would be an even stronger side. We do also have to expect injuries and suspensions.
Sorry mate, don't agree. We need a specialist left winger, for too long the threat from that side of the pitch has been sadly lacking. We don't even need a 'big name' to come in., just someone who can get half decent balls into the box and provide the possibility of a small chance of a goal. Steed and Richardson aren't the answer (unless the question is who do I think should start every game on the bench?) The left has been ignored for too long and it's time to at least bring it up to premier league standard.
Either i think he means steed or he has a serious mammory problem..oops my typo finger strikes again.please dont shout at me im only 49 and 3/4.
