There was a discussion happening early on options. When i get killed and am proved town tonight look at those pointing options in a direction. It seems a lot aligned wihtout any good reason on bar early and only then a proper discussion started (which astro killed suspiciously) did they have to justify the reasons. don't let your line of questioning get killed guys. All vanilla's look at options on your own again from stratch and find out which you feel is best.
@moreinjuredthanowen Staying home feels like doing nothing to me, which makes it neutral. With the others its just a toss of a coin, both have bad points. EDIT: Or doing nothing is against the whole point of being a superhero and the DC universe, so I guess it could be bad, if its based on that.
I don't know lucaaas. My original thought was none stood out as ideal logically so there are pros and cons to each. Pick which has most pros in your own mind at this point. The thing is only vanilla vote so mafia have to influence to get their desired destination
So I assume you're happy for everyone who pushed the bar to be lynched if it turns out bad? Proposing a direction is the same a proposing a lynch. Feel free to do so if you're prepared to face the consequences if wrong.
Surely though if Mafia attempt influence to get their desired locations its easier pickings for Townies in the next round
I'm sticking my neck out there. I think the bar is the good option from my analysis of what we can achieve. Whether you think its me influencing or not thats what i think is best
I've purposely not said a location for a reason, i think it is a bit foolish to give your location, or maybe i'm understanding the game wrong.
Have that old de ja vu feeling coming on. I'm dodgy based on discussion but helpful? Care to explain cos' you've got me confused. Busy catching up and will post properly when I have. As you may guess I'm upto post 169 at the minute.
Even less than a usual day 1 to go on so I have no worthwhile input, for the sake of it I'd guess Bar/Home/Park as Good/Neutral/Bad for the obvious face-value reasons each of those locations imply. *EDIT* And I'm voting Tobes, mostly by random selection to be honest.
My view is the reward for town or punishment must be worth influencing so at least one mafia should have tried to. Did they do so before or after your posts.. I don't know. Perhaps the bar is the really right answer. Very few said otherwise
Vanillas aren't superheroes so maybe they should stay home and out of the way. Maybe if you go out looking for trouble during a curfew you just get taken hostage or something. You can argue points for and against all the options but there seems no way to actually work out the right answer. That's why I prefer no one trying to influence at all as it negates the mafia's advantage. For the same reason you almost always lynch an innocent day 1 we will almost definitely choose the wrong option if we allow people to influence decisions.
Mito, from a gamesmaster perspective I think IBWT has played a blinder... No real vote updates or constant checking of the thread, no last minute voting flurry... Smartest move ever? There I was creating shifting FA scores based on actions and then randomising the results every night! I just hope we dont get mass tied votes with the hidden voting, although that would change things up a bit!
Remember how it went a couple of games ago which also had 3 possible decisions. The mafia (which I was a part of) got the town to choose the bad option every single time. It's so easy to come up with BS logic in favour of one direction. Then get others to throw in comments like "well I'm not sure about the other two but X seems bad". Nudge enough people away from the two options you don't want or towards the option you do want. Unless the mechanic changes and there appears to be some logic or clue then anyone who thinks they know should be considered suspicious. I don't want any townies making themselves look guilty. And if a well-meaning townie comes up with a sensible argument for the bad direction the mafia just sit back and laugh. Yes it is killing conversation a bit but the conversation looks to me as pointless. So far the best lead I have seen is Tobes claiming to be a vanilla but not being aware of basic information that should have been in his PM.
